Description
'Hope GeGnome from Leura'
This tough but eternally optimistic little guy is ready to roam! And he 'hopes' to travel far and wide around Australia over the Christmas and New Year season!
Please note that he has no log book attached. This means that you simply notice his special GA number (written underneath his rock) and enter him as an electronic log at GCA. No pen or pencil required!
'Hope Gegnome from Leura' is very, very social. He doesn't like to live far away from people. So please hide him near streets and roads and parks, where people can find him easily. Don't park him in remote bushland, or far out on the end of a fire trail, whatever you do!

Attended the very enjoyable GCA Moveable & Mystery Madness event (GA10647) in Whiteman Park today with Chwiliwr and Gwawr. We found this cache with all the other moveable caches that were brought to the event by the various GCA cachers in attendence. There were also a couple found not actually at the event.

Discovered 'Hope GeGnome from Leura' at the Moveable & Mystery Madness Event held in Whiteman Park. The forecast was for rain but we were blessed with good weather for the day. A small but dedicated group of geocachers and a couple of new faces attended and exchanged stories of caches found and missed. Many thanks PJMPJM for the cache.

Planning for this trip began in June - we knew we would be heading to Adelaide but which way would we go? This depended on our targets. We looked at our list of unclaimed Dragon Zone trophies and picked out several that we could feasibly collect the required number of finds to qualify for the trophy. We then had to identify caches that would meet our targets and from here it was time to plan a route that would take us past the caches we had identified. Any caches too far off our route were discarded and replaced by suitable alternatives.
All was running smoothly until the Christmas in July game was announced. We would be travelling in the latter part of the game. It was difficult to include this in our target caches as we did not know what was required. Once the game began and we understood what we needed to do we could then add other caches to the target list.
We were just getting our heads, yes all four of them, around this when more Dragon Zone trophies were added. Which ones could we meet and which should we ignore? Do we need to add more GA caches and/or do we need to change our route and our targets? We decided on our target list and then our route and timeline. We had just drawn a line under everything and were about to begin printing our caching booklets, route maps and target lists when caught@work published 23 new caches on the Western Ring Path. Earlier we had decided on the caches in the Edgewater Walk series. If we added the new ones on the Western Ring Path and as many of the CCC series as possible, we could probably reach the required number of caches to qualify for the Dragon Zone trophies “Restraining Order Stalker” (Find 100 DZ caches hidden by the same cacher) and “Obsession!=Insanity” (find 50 DZ caches in a day). As the latter would give us our first Blaze Trophy, it was decided to alter everything to include the CCC series.Four Fun, in South Australia published five puzzle caches that would bring good points in the Christmas in July game. Can we solve the puzzles? A few more adjustments to the route and the caches to find list and we would be off.
Having successfully completed our Melbourne challenges and gained our first Blaze Dragon Zone trophy it was time to focus on the Christmas in July game. We started on the Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park puzzle caches recently published by Four-Fun. With Four-Fun's puzzles found, several of J_&_J's puzzles found and the Christmas in July game over it was time to focus on completing the requirements for a few more Dragon Zone Trophies.
When we knew that there was a possibility that we would have a break from grand parent duties we had planned this slight detour so that we could find both GA and GC caches that would meet the requirements for several Dragon Zone trophies and several GC challenge caches in several states. As we had already visited all states and territories except Western Australia this year it was time for us to hop on a plane and head for Perth, Western Australia.
When we were at home we had noticed that Lazarus68 had been collecting moveable caches during a recent visit to the eastern states. We wondered if Lazarus would be back in the west by the time we visited and if we would have an opportunity to find the moveables that were in his care. So, we contacted Lazarus and the stars did align. We made arrangements to visit and we were able to log finds on quite a few moveable caches. Many thanks Lazarus68 for making these caches available for our visit. In turn, we left another ten moveables in the area which are also now in the care of Lazarus68.

Picked up from the Hawkesbury Meet & Greet event at Ebenezer. Which makes it an easy find no tough looking here. Thanks for placing the moveable pjmpjm. Good luck on it's next set of journeys.

This was rather confusing. This was not supposed to be where I found it. Anyway I moved it.
One I have seen before, but worth another smilie. Just shuffled them around the park with short moves. Thanks pjmpjm.
Moved to a new resting spot for a well deserved rest, Well not too long a rest one would hope.
Haven't seen this one for a while! Will leave it to rogerw3 to move him.

Got this one as part of a moveable hunt in Berry, not much of a hunt really thanks to Tuena.

Virtual move only. Waymarking in Tallong today so hopefully will find a suitable location in that area.
Found with a bunch of his mates on a wild & windy day - thanks to Throsbyonchurch for the special delivery.
I could say I found Hope , but in reality, it's probably a comme ci comme ca. It was pretty funny chasing movable gnomes , angels , frogs etc down the freeway only to catch them and be plucking them from their hide'y hole and bursting at the seams carrying these wiggly giggly thingys back to a box in your mobile and clutching onto them almost for dear life. The whole look is hilarious. An enormous Thank You to Just a Cacher and Black Bunny for finding Hope and dropping him off. Thank you pjmpjm for sharing Hope.

Feeling really cranky, you travel all this this way to collect caches and people don't log that they have taken them, or they've had them in their possession for months. No consideration. Ruins the game!!! and it's unfair. ..... i'm just cranky because there are supposed to be 86 movables in the ACT to date and I can't access the majority of them and I'm fining this to be the case most of the time. Right or wrong from what I can see I can see why cachers don't bother too much about Geocaching Australia caches.

I had just returned from Tassie, where I had received alerts that a marauding bunch of moveables had reached Canberra. Conveniently they had just re-emerged not too far from home, so I popped over and did the pick up. TFTC pjmpjm
The group of us have decided to party in Jacka a northern suburb of Canberra. We are at the posted co-ords which is near a little play park. We are not in the park but to the left of the entry gate. We all await your visit.

HOPE GENOME FROM LEURA is in residence at The Rock until we head over to Canberra in the next week or so.
Hope? Hope is the one thing that will always stick by you, just like in Star Wars: A New Hope. Thanks The Morris for giving caughtatwork and I a pile of caches, which will all be moved soon.
Met The Morris and she handed me a pile of moveable caches. This makes for a very easy transaction and these will all be hidden again very shortly.
quick grab while in the area today with Black Bunny.

Moved to this location, in green bag. Sorry for those that don't like private yards. But you are perfectly OK to enter the front area and even talk to the occupants. This is a safe, under watch area so I didn't have to worry about these being lost to muggles. There is also a GC cache nearby.
I thought I'd grab this in a quick dash since the hide location was just a little off the track going home.. I'll move it along shortly.

Hanging out down south and waiting on a lift....
#GA766 - 15:45; Sol de lune and I had decided that double points month made a flying day trip to Sydney to grab some more trigs and perhaps a GeGnome or two a worthwhile adventure. An itinerary was hastily prepared and today was to be the day. We had completed a good part of the prepared itinerary, but it had been a bit ambitious, so we decided to abandon it at this stage and collect as many caches in the Willoughby and North Sydney areas before heading back across the bridge for a few more southside on the way home. After picking up a couple of the nearby trigs, we headed to this nice little park to collect Hope and a couple of his mates. I have custody and Hope should be making an appearance in the Nation's Capital sometime soon! TFTC pjmpjm

Grabbed with LuckyL10n during our day run to Sydney chasing a few pesky GeGnomes along with a few Trigs...
Last of the 11 moveables we spirited away from the big smoke that will soon call Canberra home. No problems making the nab and all was good. LuckyL10n has this one and will re-locate shortly.
Thanks pjmpjm.....nice to grab a few GeGnomes from up your way!

Moved this one down to Artarmon on the way home from work today. There are 3 in the area. This one isn't on the freeway!
Found this one sitting at the dinner table at Asquith Leagues. Will try and move on quickly. Thanks pjmpjm.
Hope slept through the GCNSW meeting and only woke up long enough to hop from one end of the table to the other and swap places with another runner!
Hope was melting in the heat out the front of Tronador's place so welcomed the aircon in my car for another adventure!
