Description
A nominal gnome.
Lucky has been entered in the Gnome Race for the summer of 2015-16.
He is a totally average gnome, just lucky to be included in the race, rather than being confined in some garden to sit out the droughts and storms of a typicals garden gnome's life. Lucky is prepared to toss his fate to the winds, and to see where he travels over the coming months.
His older brother Gnorman (GA2999) did this in Dec 2010. He's currently still circulating in Western Australia, a long way from home.
Here's lucky coolinmg off by the pond and saying goodbye to his fishy mates before he sets off on his adventures.
This Gnome is part of a race to move as far as possible by 31 Jan 2016. Pick him up and take him on a trip. Then hide him again ASAP.
- Log me as found when you find me
- Then log me as moved when you place me somewhere else.

Lucky came with us to the brand new "Tailem Bend Motorsport Park" to watch motorcycle road racing today. It's the first time the new venue has hosted a round of the Australian Superbike Championships and a round of the Asia Road Racing Championships.
Lucky loved the action so much he didn't want to leave. Unfortunately, we left the rear window down on the start of our journey home, so Lucky took his chances and bailed out of the open window!
He was last seen sitting under a bush by the side of the road, not far from The Bend Motorsport Park.

This gnome is bigger than I was expecting. I decided to ignore the GPSr, and check things like the guard rail first. I came up empty handed, so paid a bit more attention to the instrument, and found a jolly big gnome hiding in a shrubbery.
We bundled him into the car and brought him back to J & J HQ, where we let him frolick in the garden for an hour or two. It was here I noticed his disfigured face! not a bad repair job I must say, but has got a head like a robbers dog. He's also missing a hand, so I he'd have difficulties in properly using that shovel that he takes everywhere with him. I asked him if I could lend a hand, but that only upset the poor blighter.
We'll let Lucky rest up for a short while, and release him back into the wild soon.
Thanks gmj3191.

Lucky has moved to a spot with a magnificent view over the ocean near Hallet Cove.
He's hoping someone picks him up before the wet winter winds start to howl in from the gulf, but he should have great weather for the next week.

A simultaneous find with Glo18.
He's a great Gnome this one, and a fitting discovery for the climax to a caching afternoon.
Thanks 2y'stassies for the hide, and GMJ3191 for sending this delightful bloke off on his journies

Lucky so so Lucky.... Despite all the Tour Down Under MuggleMania, Lucky still lay quietly in his barky bower....it was nearly dark when Whheels and I made our desperate rescue effort.... Twas just a green hint of his helmet in the evening light that saved him. He is now in safe hands and heading for new adventures....
Lucky had been collected earlier in the day but had decided to leave us while we were in the McLaren Vale area.
Found Lucky on an early meet with ParisLaura in the presence of a large number of moveables who were making their first visit to South Australia. Hope this will give the local GCA cachers some moveables for the coming game. Lucky will be on the move again soon.
I saw Lucky the Gnome pop up on my raidar and didnt need much of an excuse to jump in the car and go for a drive.
After dinner tonight I grabbed the kids and the dog and went for a nice pleasant walk to this cache. mind you the Galahs in the surrounding trees were so loud they could raise the dead. Poor lucky has seen better days, he has a hole in his side area but still has the log safely in place.
Will move Lucky on again soon.

What a well behaved gnome! Apparently he's had enough of the NT in summer and the thought of being left at Tanami was enough to ensure exemplary behaviour. He snuggled down in a tool box without a complaint and got flown out. Even made it through a toolbox search. Not sure what function the security people thought he performed but they raised no complaints!
He's now been left close to water as a bit of a change from red dirt.

Found this hot and tired gnome resting under a rock on the side of the Stuart Highway. The hint said "under a rock" without mentioning there were several hundred rocks shoring up the highway at this point. Fortunately it was possible to stand back and consider which rock looked most inviting for the hider. Sure enough, the gnome was soon found.
I'm heading west from this point. If Lucky's luck holds and he behaves himself, he may get a trip to cooler climes, but he could also be left in the desert!

Today we explored the West MacDonnell National Park and enjoyed our journey surrounded by majestic scenery. The track in was interesting crossing the dry river beds and the sandy sections added to the fun.
After finding all the caches in the area this Lucky gnome was our lucky last find. Accurate co ordinates led us to him - making a quick find.

It’s been a challenge to pick a spot to drop this Gnome off. I was on a day of caching west of Alice Springs then I came to this cache Hugh Gorge https://coord.info/GC4TZRF cache - this is an access track for the Larapinta Trail. I 4wd out here – it took just over an hour – NOTE this track is only a dry weather track as you be going through many creek crossings & creek rock gardens. I have supplied photos of the camp for the walkers along this track.
So there is 2 ways to retrieve this Gnome – 4WD out or walk the Larapinta Trail.

Lucky has decided that as he owns a spade he would try his luck at opal mining in Coober Pedy. He has set up home under a pretty flowering bush. He hopes he will get a visitor soon.
Found easily, sitting in the middle of a bush, watching passers by. Picked up and off for an adventure. Perhaps a bit of prospecting?
Have shovel, will travel.

Missed out on searching for this cache today, time was marching on, darkness arrived and the cold was setting in, and it was well and truly time to head toward home.

Stopped by Redwood Grove Park as I passed through the ACT from Captain's Flat to Sydney. This is one of a number of moveables collected from within the park and taken for a ride to Sydney.
It will be released to the wilds again in the next few days.

Poor lucky. He's a bit off his face, but he's 'armless
Dropped near The Morris, and I think it's gone.
Picked him up just now. He's been subjected to some poor treatment, and was found hidden upside down with a broken nose.
Doesn't seem to mind however.

The horrendous storms prevented me getting out to hide this dude yesterday so he was hidden first thing this morning at the Maternal Child Health centre I was visiting.
Rescued on the way home from my usual Thursday evening dinner plans. Who would have thought I'd get Lucky while skulking around in the bushes in a dimly lit park in the fading light of a summer evening. Thanks for the gnome.
Lucky said he fancied watching some local footy, had to inform him that sadly it's cricket season now. He didn't seem to mind do I dropped him off anyway.
