Description

Great story about this tree!

Take the time and read the signage about the journey this tree has made from northern Western Australia to its current spot.  Great views from here over the confluence of the Canning and Swan Rivers.  Plus plenty of walks start from here into the southern parts of Kings Park.

To claim a find, include a photo of the boab tree taken by yourself at the site.

Enjoying an afternoon walk through Kings Park after caching around the city and Bibra Lake earlier in the day. I noticed a smaller Boab nearby for the first time today. I always enjoy seeing the journey this tree took all through our state.

Mrs jinta and I had some spare time today so we set off to find some GCA caches! We headed to this area and hopped from one cache to the next with no real set plan but kept following the GPSR... this cache was one we grabbed while passing by. Cheers for placing this one. jinta29

Boabs are my favourite type of tree. Have been up here a few times to have a look at it since it's the closest boab to home Very Happy

Have seen it both 'naked' and 'dressed' Laughing Love them more 'naked' as get better view of the outstanding tree. Love it when we head north to Broome and the Kimberley and see them a lot more often Very HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery Happy . I have been known to hug a few in our travels LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

We came up here at lunchtime for a quick look at the views. Having parked so close to this one, I got my PiC to take a photo in front of the tree with me in it but I also took a shot of the tree myself at 12:55 to meet the requirements of the virtual. Very Happy

Many thanks for bringing us here and the cache fluffyfish. Very Happy

Due to the number of caches to log I have resorted to boiler plate logs, sorry. Arrived in Perth on 8th August 2016 and I had my lap top with me to log our finds with any necessary photos but due to an oversight left my 4G modem at home and the free WI-Fi at the place we are staying is very slow and times out much to fast. We collected our hire car and drove straight to Kings Park. The weather was overcast and drizzly. We spent about 5 hours up here and we walked to every cache leaving the car where we parked it. This was our seventh cache for the morning. Took the required photo after reading any plaque associated with the object. TFTC FLUFFYFISH Clan Minotaur Very Happy

Woohoo!! FTF at 6:30am!

I was in Kings Park early this morning for a bike race, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab these 3 new ones. I have seen this boab tree many times before, it's been here for quite a few years now. I must say it's looking better than it did a few years ago, it looked like it wasn't going to make it.

Thanks for the cache fluffyfish!
