Description

Here is the man himself. John Curtin. Prime Minister so powerful they named a high school after him. Perhaps that's less impressive than being Labor Leader for so long and taking Australian through WW2. Read more on him on his wikipedia entry here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Curtin]

To log the cache take a picture with him, enjoy Fremantle and the abundance of cafes, bars and culture. There are several other statues in the area and may be subject to future caches in the future.

Have fun.

Out and about caching and taking photos for the day. House sitting over here in this beautiful state. Always a great way to explore areas. Lovin' life, coffees and caches, waymarks and photos, taking the roads less travelled, letting my GPS be my guide. Does it get any better than travelling this great land of ours? Dancing

What a beautiful area to take a stroll (and quite a few photos). - After having my car broken into and my camera stolen, I have to rely on my phone now for pics Evil or Very Mad

Thanks for the Cache Shaydex. Appreciate you highlighting this area and bringing me here. Clapping

Out with oldmorty doing a bit of shopping. We've walked by this figure every time we've visited Freo and only now realised it was a geocaching Australia virtual. Thanks to the CO.

Must say I always been a fan of PM John Curtin for his pivotal role during tough times in our coountry's history and was stoked to come to central Fremantle to nab this memorial cache. Came over from east on a work trip an afternoon early for a GCA spree in the Fremantle and port area. This was a cracker, thankyou Shaydex!

With an earlier than expected finish to today's work, we mosied down to Freo for a look around. That brought me to this one and despite the barricading currently around the ex-PM, I was able to get my shot at 15:00.

Thanks Shaydex.

I did try to upload a picture of him for the cache description however it didn't work for me.

If anyone has better coordinates and wants to offer them, go for it. The statue is outside near the Visitor Centre
