Description

Cahe is a small black sistema with logbook, pencil and swaps.

Cache is located on the shoreline of a small picturesque seaside town around 30 minutes from Zeehan. In March 1881,3 Scandanavian brothers the Karlsons, brought their cutter Trial through the narrow reefs offshore bringing much needed supplies to the hordes of miners covering the slopes of Mt. Heemskirk and Zeehan. Enjoy!

"Hello sirius Tas thank you for the cache.

As we drove in we thought the muggle campers were camped on your cache.
Luckily as we were coming back out the GPSr took us 50m away from them and out of there sight and it ended up to be an easy find.

Found on Friday 22 October 2021 at 0825

Found during a weekend away with EeePees.

Hi and thanks for the virtual.
Taking advantage of the Hobart show public holiday, and making a 4 day geocaching trip West, and then North West, with AlbyDangles.
This is one we found along the way, as we avoided the nearby muggle campers.
Cheers, EPs.

Found on a caching adventure trip with whitewebbs, visiting Waratah, Corinna, Zeehan and Strahan.

Always a great place to visit, we were lucky with the weather, a sunny and calm day.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks Sirius Tas for giving us a reason to revisit Trial Harbour.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers and stopped to locate this cache. A quick find. A beautiful calm day. 17 degrees and sunny and no wind. The area has certainly changed since we were here in 2012. TFTC

Over on the west coast for some car camping. First time we'd been to Trial Harbour. Nice camping site and pretty quiet, had it mostly to ourselves probably due to it being a week day. Located the cache quite easily and it's in good order.

I was on a NW trip to grab some caches with Gooseandegg and Tazscout, this one we had to walk past as muggles were parked nearby, but they were still there when we return so we were glad of an easy find and we soon had it signed and replaced before they even noticed.

thanks for the cache.

Catching with stainless steel rat and TazScout around the west coast. We left the egg and the girls down at the beach playing in the rock pools and picked up a few around the area. We drove past this to grab another hoping the tourists would have gone when we returned but no. One car was parked greedily where about four could fit so we muscled in and quickly headed off to the cache. They were too busy repacking their car to worry about what we were doing. Thanks for another western cache sirius Tas.

Caching our way around the West coast after the Oz Day event with SSRat and Goose&Egg.
There were some tourists parked near GZ but they weren't paying attention to us so we headed off to grab this one. TFTC

Our last visit to Trial Harbour was in the mid-80's & things have changed little. In fact I think we camped around here. Today someone was camped in very close proximity so we adopted our best big-city stealth procedures but we think they were off doing other stuff. Almost 9 months & we're STF... which is not too bad for these parts. TFTC sirius.

Today we decided to head to the West Coast. As there was an easterly weather system over Tasmania, the West Coast was fine and sunny with very little or no breeze - a magic day in the west.

As we drove into Trial Harbour we were amazed to see a very flat sea. There were some waves breaking onto the shore but beyond the waves, the sea was almost dead calm. We have never seen such calm conditions on the western coastline as we saw today. This was the first cache we visited. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. the cache and contents were in good condition. There being no entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 10:50. Thanks Sirius Tas for placing a cache here - Trial Harbour is always a great place to visit but today was extra special.
