Description
J & J's twenty-seventh geocache hide. A simple traditional with a nice view.
A quick drive-by cache located along a nice section of Pennys Hill Road, with nice views to the north of this location.
There is ample car parking space available here, making a great place to stop for lunch or a snack.
A short scramble will be required to access the cache, which is a regular sized Sistema container painted in cammo colours.
Happy hunting!

A short scramble? More like goats only for the 5 metre clamber. Recommend decent grippy shoes as mine weren't. Well worth the effort for the little treasures I chuckled at. Going down became a sudden adventure that I'm glad no one saw....
Well we had some fun with this cache. From the parking space it didn't look unduly steep however as Mrs Y'stassie got closer she could see that short legs would be a distinct disadvantage. After a bit of a scramble she reached the top and headed to the object mentioned in the hint. It took a while to locate the good sized container as it had slipped well down into the bark. After signing the log and replacing the cache she had time to admire the view across the countryside, well worth the short climb.
Due to the unstable nature of the bank, a result of loose soil, slippery, slate like rocks and loose leaf and bark cover, choosing a safe path down was not easy, particularly with no stable hand holds. In the end Mrs Y'stassie slipped and slid her way down steadied by a walking pole held by her other half.
Thanks for a challenging cache J_&_J. We enjoyed the view from GZ and it was nice to find another good sized cache. Container and contents were in good condition. We also liked the fact that there was plenty of safe parking close to the hide.

Found It!
The last 3m were a bit challenging (especially in the rain) but I got up there without falling down. Not a bad view from up here!

I'vr been meaning to get to this cache for quite a while (from way back when I worked in McLaren Flat) however a transfer to the Barossa Valley kind of put that on the back burner until now. With plenty of spare time on my hands now and an appointment in the vale this morning, it was finally time to make a short detour and climb a little hill Who would have thought Penny had such a lovely view!
A nice quick find af a cache in excellent condition.

Found this today with my 2 kids. Oh my, that steep hill is not for the weak. That was a real challenge to climb and even harder to slide down!!
