Description
Once upon a time there was a village here.
Mount Boppy, also called Boppy Mount, was a village that lasted less than 10 years. It began to rise with the opening of a copper mine and construction of a railway line. When gold was discovered in small quantity and quality it grew even more. However, just 3 miles south, serious gold was hit and a rush followed. Almost every house, shop and hotel in Boppy Mount were pulled down and re-erected down the road. The railway buildings remained for a while, servicing what was a thriving town but is now the ghost town of Canbelego down the road.
In one old photo of the station (see photos in gallery) I noticed the water tower. Passing this weekend I wondered if you could see any foundations left where it stood.
...well you'll have to come find out for yourself.

Day 2 - and we drove from Warren over to Cobar. After heading up the nearby mountain it was time to grab this one. Parked nice and close to GZ for a quick find.
Thanks No_Tomorrow !!
Goulburn to Forbes, Nyngen, Cobar, Broken Hill, Wentworth and Balranlad. After a sleep in we left our overnight
stop at Warren and headed to Cobar via Nyngen. There were a few caches along the way, but most of the action
was the Australian Towns series North of Cobar, and a great selection of local caches. The two Earth caches
were the highlight.
After ascending the peak of Mt Boppy, we found this great cache below it.
Thanks
Albida
