Description
Lake Coogee Walk
The path around Lake Coogee is generally very secluded, though this is likely to change as the area is opened up for more housing development. It is a lovely scenic walk with seats along the way, some plaques & sculptures commemorating aspects of the area's heritage and a bird-watching hide at the southern end of the lake. The full circuit of the lake is about 4.8km; to walk the full circuit, you need to leave the lakeside and follow the road for part of the way along the eastern shore.
The cache is intended to be a fairly easy find a few metres off the path.
Suggested parking coordinates: S32° 07.744 E115° 46.749
From here, it is a 1.6km walk to GZ.
This cache was placed during the GeoSportz 2016 game period to meet the requirements of the 1500m hide challenge. It could also be used by other cachers to meet the 1500m find challenge, or one of the other challenges such as rowing or sailing. Realised that the preceding statement was incorrect, as only caches that were published before the start of the game can be counted toward those challenges ... only the FTF challenge can be met by a newly published cache.
There is an FTF tag, a couple of tags for subsequent finders and a few trinkets in the cache. A gnome is in residence at GZ at time of publishing.

Thanks a lot Firnsy. Always enjoy your caches
Thanks Firnsy
We all enjoyed the walk to the cache but had trouble finding it initially as the GPS didn't want to settle down at anything under 40m. Finally it came down to something that enabled me to decide where to look and after a bit I found the cache.
Thanks Firnsy for the cache and walk.
We got back to the vehicle just in time to avoid getting wet from the shower that arrived over the hill.
