Description

Climb from the Lane Cove River to Quebec?!

Québécois

Québécois (pron. ke-bek-wa) is the both the French Canadian dialect spoken in those portions of Canada which were French colonies before federation and the monkier of a person residing in the province of Quebec. Quebec is Canada's largest province by area and the second most populousMost of this population live in urban areas near the Saint Lawrence River between Montreal and Quebec City, the capital. This cache lives at the end of Quebec Rd in Chatswood West. Perhaps not as glamourous a location as the cultured streets of Montreal but a very pleasent spot none-the-less.

You can get free parking at S33° 47.615' E151° 9.379'. From there it is a short but steep walk along a part of the Great North Walk until you need to leave the track to reach GZ. This cache lives just outside the Lane Cove National Park boundary so don't worry if you pass NPWS signs on your way there. On the way you should pass the interesting rock platform featured in the photo above which is worth a wander around. J'espère que vous avez apprécié le cache!

Did you know that NSW has a geocaching association? Geocaching NSW aims to enhance and improve the activity of geocaching and holds regular events where geocachers meet to enjoy their common interests. Visit the association website here.

completed in the morning after going to the fish markets – needed to justify the unjustifiable the road tolls that you pay so did a little caching in this part north of Sydney on the way home. For me completed 3 off trigs & this cache with a bit of a walk to all, a very enjoyable short walk along the great northern track – this is my type of cache & cache hide area Razz – so it made it more enjoyable. Many thanks for the history lesson - TFTC / TFTH / SL

Finally remembered to download my GCA PQ and saw this was a local cache down a trail I'd been meaning to explore....

Once at GZ, began to explore the levels but luckily quickly made the find - I probably went a bit too adventurous if anything.

Cache in good nick - photo attached, lots of bulldog clips inside (interesting swag!).

SL and returned for the next finder... Hopefully not in a few years!

I happened to be staying in the area overnight and after catching up with my daughter at the Comic Con and catching up with cachers at a GCNSW event, I went back to my moving castle but was bored. So I decided to see what GCA caches there were in the area. Seeing there were a couple nearby and having a car handy to drive around, I decided that would fill some time.

Part of the Great North Walk I read - it had my attention. I had to check it out. I really enjoyed this little wander up... and up... and up to find this cache. The steps and rocks were cool. Cache was fairly easy to find and was in good condition. The camp tape was threatening to come off though.

Thanks so much for the mini adventure here. Smile

Mais non. Je ne le parle pas. Not sure about the parking recommendation and this talk of a steep walk. I've found several caches in this area and with the benefit of prior knowledge, took the short, quick, simple approach.
A good find, 12 months to the day since its last vistor.
Thanks Zal.

Hadn't noticed this one being placed, but then again I've been a bit distracted from caching the last six months. Went on a Boxing Day walk to burn off some calories, not expecting a cache but checking the GPS, lo and behold, a new cache on my planned walk. Paused and looked around when I got to GZ and spied a likely place, and that's where the cache was. SL TNLN TFTC. Had been planning a cache at the rocky location nearby for a while, but never got it together. It's a nice spot.

Yea! After picking off the leeches from our scavenging about in the bush after (or rather IN) this constant rain, we made our way to this french cache. Now french was definitely my worst subject in school, I hated my teacher and the subject, and my teacher hated me too I'm sure! So I was worried about being able to find this, but luckily it was located in a lovely bit of Aussie bush and I had no trouble getting myself drenched as I searched about before a nice find in a dry spot.

I love the rock platform you pass on the way to this and it was amazing in todays rain with every waterhole full and frogs croaking their little hearts out.

TFTC Zal and the point for the Summer Scavenge!

Decided to head down and grab this one this afternoon as I had to head this way for other activities. Parked at the end of Quebec Road and walked in, until it was time to bush bash. Looked at the hint and thought I needed to go down which ended up making the T rating a little higher than turned out to be necessary. Still found it quickly enough. Thanks Zal. Another *FTF*
