Description
A stroll by the River
You will need to walk several hundred meters but an easy walk on a paved track along the river unti you reach a pedestrian bridge over Rickaby's creek in Windsor. The bridge is named after a local soldier who was killed in the war in Afganistan, Luke Worsley. A memorial plaque is near by.
My wife and I regularly walk across this bridge stopping to enjoy the wild life that might be seen. In particular an Azure kingfisher might be seen in the branches below the bridge. A small bird with an orange breast and royal blue colouring with a pair of white neck flashes. Your log might include what you have seen.
My first traditional hide released as part of 2016 GeosportZ competion #32 Games of the XXXI Olympiad

ready to be found again..
ready to be found again..
I have retrieved the cache, it survived the flooding, but the railing it is hidden in didn't have as much luck. Suspect there will be council work carried out and until then I have disabled.
Very new to this gig and was put onto geocaching by a mate. Walked excitedly with the family on the hunt for treasure. was careful not to remove or put back while people were watching
Finally a find here. we were back to figure find a couple of other cashes near by.... and today was our lucky day, after outdoornut22 assured me it was there we waited for a couple of muggles to be on there way and we quickly had the find in hand........ a clever hide we have defiantly seen these types of hides before so I don't know how we missed it the first time looking... oh well it a log sign and a find for us this time thanks for hiding !

after Lucky's cache check we thought we better go back for a better look, we picked a time when there were less muggles around so we could have a good look without being to suspect, and within a couple of minutes we had the cache in hand, I think we must have actually touched it last time without realising. thanks for the cache and sorry for doubting you Lucky

I regularly walk past this site and the cache is still where I hid it, the flood earlier this year did not impact it.
Checked this morning.

#GA2269 - 11:20; When the States of the Nation game began, a plan was hatched for a group of ACT cachers to take a trip north to the Hawkesbury on a scavenger raid. As time passed the group's numbers dwindled, but with a bit of work solving puzzles and a few things rescheduled, our merry band comprising andrewbt, Sol de lune and I set off on a damp Canberra morning to try our hand. A recent visit to Canberra by cachers from this area provided an added incentive, so we could repay the karma points we gained from their visit. A successful day it turned out to be with 56 finds and only three DNFs. After finding a walkway not too far from GZ, we made our way over only to be greeted by the sound of trolls under the bridge! Luckily we didn't need to go downstairs and after checking a couple of possibilities, came up with the cache. TFTC lucky1955

In the area with LuckyL10n and AndrewBT and this was next stop. Parked where we could and took the walk along the path to find the cache without any issues. Log was signed, cache replaced and we were off to our next one.

8th of 55 today with SDL and LuckyL10n!
Walking over the bridge, we could hear some cackling and talking. Sounds like Gollum has taken residence under the bridge

Nice stroll along the river with the CO. so I found it & he did a cache check. Was at the nearby GIFF event so did a few caches with Lucky1955 before heading for home.
Beautiful stars out here when you get that bit further away from the city.

Thanks for the cache.
Doing a course at UWS so headed out afterwards to hunt some local GCA caches. Knew there would be some new ones due to geosportz to find and wasn't disappointed. Lovely afternoon spring walk along the river and a systematic hunt to lock down the hide. Cheers!

Came for a stroll al9ng the Nepean River and stopped for this cache took a while to find the correct hide. Had to walk away at one stage as a muggle was coming to the bridge. B7t eventually got the find and signed the log as 3rd to find the new cache for the Geosportz event. Thanks for the cache lucky1955
Spotted this new cache when it was published, so with JJCC in tow we walked down to VS where JEFF was the one that made the quick find. Added bonus we were the first to sign the log...which is a bonus.
