Description

Across the road from the Fern Park Pony Club Centre

This cache has been set as part of the Geosports winter game so we can meet the requirements for the Equestrian challenge.  The Fern Park Pony Club grounds, across the road from the top end of the Fern Glade Reserve, can be a very busy spot at times but deserted at others so you might have to pick your moment, although you should be able to search without being too obvious.  Tried to find out more information about the pony club but their website is out of date and didn't provide much to go on.

Fern Glade is a lovely bush reserve on the outskirts of the city of Burnie.  One of the highlights of a walk throught the reserve is the chance of spotting a platypus in the river.  Hope you're lucky enough to see one.  What you might also see are Pokemon Go players as there are several pokestops and pokegyms in the reseve.  Don't you just love it that cachers aren't the dodgy ones any more!!!

There are at least nine other caches in the reserve that we know of and it's also a favourite hiding spot for moveable caches.

The cache is a small black magnetic container with a My Little Pony sticker inside the lid.  Please rehide carefully so the cache can't be seen by casual observers.

Hello sharnie's tribe, and TFTC.
We were looking in different places, then I found this one by the hint. It did take some time to open the container though!
Found with AlbyDangles on Day Two of the 'Bust leg of our "Kempsey or Bust" tour.
Full log to follow.
Cheers, EPs

We had planned to come North to visit family in Launceston over the weekend but decided to take the long way detouring via Sisters Creek and Tullah to collect 2 dragon zones we did not have. Along the way we targeted a few caches and this was one of them. There was even a pony doing a show across the road. There were so many caches we went past as time was limited, but it gives us a reason to return. We travelled over 700 km and are still not home. TFTC

Thanks for the cache Sharnie's Tribe. Staying nearby for a couple of days with RLD4963 and we decided to head to the Fern Glad Reserve where there is a nice cluster of caches to find. This one was the first for the day, and we found it just before we entered the reserve. It took us ages to open the cache....really really difficult to open. We got there in the end and were happy to sign the log and return the cache to its hiding place.

today we decided to make an assualt on the fernglade series of caches since never being in the area today was a good opportunity to explore a new area.
once at the ground zone and using the hint, it led to a quick find and signing of the log. this was a very beautiful area and exploration of the area was much enjoyed.

We logged this one tonight after work. Looked around for some indicators with the hint. At first we came up blank. Then actually using the gps as intended Rolling Eyes the cache soon presented itself. Took a bit to open it as it was fiddly to grb a hold of both sides. But the trusty car key came in handy as a pry tool without damaging the container. Thanks Sharnie’s for this hide. Clan Cerberus

Not in the first place we checked but we did find a little moveable gnome there so we grabbed that to move on. Mrs Beetle belonged to a rival pony club to the one here but competed here on many occasions in her younger days. Thanks.

On our way to fulfil a commitment in Burnie we made a short detour to find this cache. Thought we knew where this one was but GPS had other ideas. Guess what? GPS was right as usual. We found a well hidden cache. The container reminded Mrs Y'stassie of the tin of black nugget her eventing friend used to use to polish up the hooves of her dressage horse. Don't think many little owners of My Little Ponies went to these extremes although we do remember one of our daughters spending a lot of time to get her little pony's tail plaited evenly.
The cache and contents were in excellent condition and as the log was blank we will claim {FTF} at 15.05.
Thanks Sharnie's Tribe for a well hidden cache and good luck with your GeosportZ endeavours.
