Description

Placed as a requirment for GeosportZ 2016

The Wooroloo Brook catchment covers an area of 536 km². It extends from its headwaters to the east of El Caballo Roadhouse in the Darling Range, to where the Swan and Avon Rivers meet to the west in Gidgegannup.

Many of the upper reaches of the Brook flow only during the winter months with permanent water only occurring where there are permanent springs.

The Wooroloo Brook catchment crosses the boundaries of the City of Swan, Shire of Northam and Shire of Mundaring.

Suggested parking is at S31 43.855 E116 6.915, then it's  a short walk to the cache.

When I set the cache the river was flowing fast and there was a great spot not far from the cache closer to the bridge to watch.

Out for a day of caching around the TBROG series with dezzabills and Lasarus_68. I managed to find 72 caches for the day with one DNF so all in all it was a good day to be out caching. Some of the caches had been found by dezzabills and or Lazarus so we all had a different find count for the day. Most of the series were found quite quickly with the odd one taking a little more time. The one thing we will have to do is return and finish off the series at a later date. This was find number twenty for the day, and was one of a few caches not in the TBROG series.

I parked on the south side of the bridge to pick up a different cache then walked over the bridge and bush bashed into the cleared area only to realise that there was a track that i could have taken doohhh. Spent about 5 minutes searching and then bingo. Thanjks for the cache ross1957/ lots of water running in the river. If it wasn't for the noisy motorbikes i would have sat and listened to the water for a while. great spot. ClappingClappingDancingDancing

Came up this afternoon to do the new GCA caches and some more of the GC series.

Found without problems but was surprised to be *FTF* after finding a blank log at 1700 hours.

Thanks Ross1957 for the cache.

STF at 6:10pm! I was out on the TbroG series, and decided to check if any new ones had been published, and spotted this one and the other between some very patchy phone reception. I left this one until later as I'd already been through that area a few times.

I could have used the hint here! It was dark by the time I got here, and the GPS had me going all over the place. There were plenty of good hiding spots, and I was very relieved when I finally got it as I was on the verge of walking away.

Thanks for the hide Ross1957!
