No luck here today, pretty sure we were at the right place as the coordinates were spot on and the clue was a perfect match.
Dug deep but no cache was found.
Thanks 2y'stassies.

Well 2y'stassies, this is an interesting moment in our caching lives.
For a range of reasons, we have been again ticking off GCA caches on a daily basis for the last few months. THEMD decided to create a locationless cache titled “The Novel Length Log Challenge GA21049 and so we selected this cache to completed the required 500 word log.
"Not Quite A Dead End" GA8428 is the closest GCA cache to our home and in fact it was also the closest GCA cache to one of our "AB4C Children's Books Series Where the Wind Blows" It was always windy when we visited this location but for some reason today we had a still and sunny afternoon. We decided to move our geocache due to ongoing works along the road. This spot is still accessible but give it a few more years and it will probably be a different story.

This area is suffering from the continual expansion of suburbia and the mounds of fill and rocks nearby are growing and growing in height and length.

So back to this afternoon. Having just had a new globe placed into the headlight mount by our friendly mechanic, Suscoe decided to make a detour here to find this cache at last.
It was a delightful Autumn afternoon here in southern Victoria, clear skies, almost no breeze and a good bit of smoke in the sky from planned burns and farmers burning stubble. It really is the nicest time of the year apart from the smoke.

We parked off the road way along Baniip Boulevarde and walked to GZ. The grass had recently been mowed which made walking quite pleasant. The ground was also getting rock hard as the rain of recent times has well and truly evaporated. At the real end of the road Suscoe ducked under the steel gate and headed for GZ. A dead sheep told us the way by using the aroma of being recently deceased.
We held our breath and walked past the sheep until we arrived at what looked like a likely spot for a cache to be hidden. It was great to have some shade to use while signing the log. A great deal of thanks goes to the 2y’stassies for the thoughtfulness of this placement.
Anyway, back to the search. A bit of looking at the area, a bit of checking the GPS and soon the hide was spotted. It was then time to bend down and squat to clear the camo and retrieve the cache.
Upon opening the container, we can report that everything inside is in excellent condition and the log is as dry as the day it was placed. It is amazing what a top container and a zip lock back can do.
So, in our very brightest red pen we signed and dated the log book and returned everything as required.
Now for the return trip past the sheep, lips closed and nose breathing paused once again.
Thanks to the 2y’stassies for this cache and find and for the chance to finally clear this nearest GCA cache from our map.
Thanks also to THEMD for providing us with this opportunity to elaborate on our mission here.

A quick find as the first GCA cache today, but not the last and that makes my research task this week complete.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here. The cache is in good order with no maintenance required.

I can’t.believe we were this close to the cache yesterday whilst doing the GC AB4C mystery series and didn’t realise this cache was here, until we arrived back at Geelong last night. Nothing else for it we had to come back today. Besides we’d missed Peter Rabbit yesterday also.
We had a delightful trip to Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff today, finding both GC and GA caches, and even have one lined up to be published there as well.
Thanks for the cache 2y’stassies, it was clean and dry and we left it well covered.

Heading back from the coast I detoured past here for a smiley.

Not sure if I came in from the right end.

But I did eventually get there.

#GA1103 - 15:55; Day 3 of the Melbourne Mega Mission with Sol de lune and we were now in Anglesea and out on the AngleseaG2 trail. Nice to find a GCA Trad to go with the three trigs we had already bagged today. Once at GZ, a short search resulted in a find and we were soon back onto the trail. Grabbed with LuckyL10n as we headed around the area while attending the Surf Coast Mega....

In between other series of caches, we honed in on this one....being a cache by our friendly Tasmanians, we couldn't leave without making the find. We arrived at GZ and with no-one else around the search was on and LL came up the goods fairly quickly. Log was signed, cache replaced and we were on our way again.

Thanks 2y'sTassis....nice to grab one of yours....again

Inevitably, I parked on the wrong side and had to walk across the dead end. But a quick find once at GZ! Slowly making my way though the 2y'stassies Geosportz caches...
