Description

Great views over Western Sydney

Set in the heart of Western Sydney, the Western Sydney Parklands is a place for people of all backgrounds to meet, celebrate, learn, play and appreciate the environment.

Entry to the Parklands is free and we are open every day of the year!

There are many areas withing the park, loads of cycling tracks and picnic areas. Dogs are welcome.

The Parklands, comprising  Eastern Creek, Prospect, Horsley Park and Hoxton Park open and special space corridors was first identified in the 1968 Sydney Region Outline Plan. At that time government planners advocated that a major program was needed to acquire enough lands to satisfy the demand for an infrastructure corridor and regional open space.

The cache is located near a nice lookout.

After finding caches in Blacktown and Holroyd we moved on to Fairfield. We had hoped to walk in the Western Sydney Regional Parklands and pick up half a dozen caches. However the weather forecast was not very promising, particularly in the Blue Mountains so we settled on picking up the two drivebys.

After searching the wrong log we moved on to another and there was the container hidden away under natural material. Tha contaoner and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for this cache Tronador. We loved the view from the turning circle and of course we were pleased to have a GCA cache find in Fairfield.

Found with rogerW3. We werent hopeful of finding this one, but nearing GZ we were lucky there wasn't a lot of lantana there now. Looked around and rogerW3 spotted it. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC

After a little search thomo31 and I found it hidden awaywhere it has been all along. The Lantana has died out but even dried out it drew some blood!

Our gps wanted us 8 metres into the lantana, but i assumed it was overdoing it, so I looked in every log on the fringes but found nothing.

continued walking around the Western Sydney Regional Parklands until I was at GZ for this one. A short search and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced as found. tftc

A short drive from your last cache - Giddy Up Horsley Park, New South Wales GA8454 parked and did the very short walk to this 1. I let the GPS do the work and brought me to a area that the hint says the cache is. Did the search and came up empty handed. Did a wider search and still nothing? So, search a little wider and was running out of hiding spots as the hint suggested. Was starting to get a sinking feeling – this cache couldn’t be that hard or is it. So, did a wider search and I spied with my little eye a cache out in the middle of nowhere in the grass. First feeling it was muggled but NO a cache in top order. Did the signing duties & placed it in a place that the hint describes with cover over it. I hope cache won’t have any problems now and last the distance as it should. Thanks for bringing me out here after work – after a shit day needed a lift or two. TFTC / TFTH / SL Clan Griffin

#GA1305 - 13:00; Day 3 of a caching mission in and around Sydney with Sol de lune. Continued along the road and up the hill from our last find. Parked the geomobile and too the short stroll to GZ. A relatively short search soon turned up the cache. Again, after 4 months' we were the second finders! TFTC tronador Very HappyClan Cerberus

Next stop in the area with LuckyL10n and after a short stroll and search, the cache was soon in hand. Walked up to the far trig on my last visit to the area, but after grabbing this one, we were off to try our luck on a testline......

Thanks again Tronador......I do like this area.

Found this one while going for a walk in the Western Sydney Parkland on a warm day walking from Lizard Log. Got close to GZ then had to work my way to GZ I found out I picked the wrong way as walked through a number of leafless bushes with thorns that liked digging into my legs. Got a few scratches that bled a bit. Found the cache and got to sign as first to find. Worth it in the end. Thanks for the cache tronador
