Description
Join the itty-bitty city art quest
Pocket-Sized Precincts is a treasure hunt across the city of Sydney that aims to bring attention to local businesses, local green spaces and promote an interest in art through direct interaction.
Pocket-Sized Precincts is free and open to all members of the community. Participants can enter either as an individual or as a team. We will clearly identify which parks and businesses are fully accessible to families, the elderly and for those with mobility issues and will endeavour to make it as accessible as possible.
Pocket-Sized Precincts is environmentally friendly. We encourage participants to walk, ride or take public transport.
The 2016 event runs from September 24 - October 9, but the cache will be available year round.

For those that are able to complete the journey and visit all the locations, we'd love to see photos of your favourite artworks in your logs.
The cache is hidden at the final park in the Pocket-Sized Precincts journey in a small patch of green known by the locals at The Paddock. It was near here in 1900 that the source of the Bubonic Plague was isolated. Residents were rushed to the Quarantine Station and most of the timber buildings in the vicinity were burned to the ground. The site was cleared and flattened to the level of Downshire Street and a grassed area created. It became known as The Paddock and the local children have played here ever since, even to the present day.
The current version of the park "...has been landscaped and levelled, planted with new trees and handed back to the community by Mirvac and Transfield continuing the tradition of the Paddock for future generations" in 2002.
The cache container has a bit of an arty feel in keeping with the theme of the event. Please look after it!

Keeping my GCA streak going - getting close to that next target of 90 days in a row - today I was staying nearby and having dinner and a drink at the Admiral Nelson was too good an opportunity to try for this one. So much history in the area with lots of plaques to read. Made a quick find on the nicely hidden cache. Signed the log, replaced the cache. Great view of the Bridge during Vivid from here. Another find for me and Clan Cerberus ! Yah !
TFTC !!
