Description
Lighthouses of SA - Corny Point Lighthouse
Because of the nature of the Yorke Peninsula jutting into the sea, and its isolation, most contact with the outside world was by the sea, and most people had a boat of some sort. The fully laden, southbound windjammers were endangered by south-westers which could bring them in on the Web Rock or onto the reefs and shoals of Berry Bay and Daly Head.
Height: 16 metres
Elevation: 30 metres
Pattern: Group Flash 4 Every 20 Seconds
Range: 19 nautical miles / 35 km

Fun fact: From the logbook:
20th June 1883: Found washed ashore near lighthouse a deal trunk containing one earthenware dish, two forks, one knife, one iron spoon and a pewter soup ladle. This evidently belonged to some small coastal vessel.

Very late ogging this cache as we were there in May 2015. Thanks for publishing this series - love them and try to remember to photograph and log them.
Found It!
Someone had decided to camp right in front of the info signs here. But I went around the other side and took some photos of the lighthouse. Nice spot.

Found on the SA leg of our 2017 escape trip.
A perfect Spring day for a drive to Corny Point and surrounds with Tassie Trekkers.
Quite a few muggles around here today.
Another nice old building still in place, thankfully.
Thanks for the cache Team MavEtJu,

Out today on the Peninsular driving around with friends and made it here for the first time. Last time I saw this was about 2004, and from the ocean side as I sailed past. Good looking this side too!
Was a beaut day to be here today .
