Description

A new-ish lookout at Coombs overlooking the Molonglo River as it meanders along through the ACT.    The cache is part of a series that highlights the area as well as the nearby new Woodland Walking Trail.   The area is still rather new with lots of construction still going on within the suburb, but a short walk out to this platform will give you some great views down to the river.

This cache is located off the end of the viewing platform and will require a short scramble to make the find.     The hint will give you a good idea of where to look.

Hope you enjoy the area and will explore a bit further along and check out the new walking trails.

It was a GA caches day for me today. A great lookout and a quick find. TFTC Very Happy

I had one batch of caches along the Molonglo river in Coombs left to do today. The track took me to the first two, then it was cross country to a cliff for a great view. I could have returned to the track, but instead I went down to the river and up to the lookout for my next cache. from there I checked out the dam and the map of the trails before heeding into the suburb to get my last cache of the morning.

Thanks.

While in the area, thought I better have another crack at this one. Once again, took some time, but eventually spotted it. Was expecting a smaller rock.

All good. Thanks,

Had a bit of a look here according to the hint, but did not find it. I was short on time, so couldn't look too meticulously.

Thanks,

As per my last visit to this area parking in the nearby suburb is a bit of a problem, in that their is no where to pull off the nearby road. Eventually found a spot in a side street. After a walk reached the lookout and found the cache easily enough. Thanks.

Now I remember. It isn't the AFL Series that I am not overly fond of but the 50 Places. Parked up as suggested and went looking for this little fellow. I had no intention of caching today, but after an appointment in Woden it just seemed to happen. Ended up doing 4 from this carpark then decided to move on - or will I give up? It's mighty hot today and I didn't start caching in Swinger Hill until after 12:30. I guess I'll just have to see. TFTC SDL Very HappyDancing

After a walk on the woodland track once more for another FTF nearby Dino and I took the time to come to this little viewpoint and had the cache in hand soon after. Very nice spot for a cache. Thanks SDL for putting this one out.

23/29 today.

Second lot of GCA caches were along the river. Arrived near GZ and saw a lot of fencing. Heart sank... Drove around a bit.. found a way in and began the trail

Beelined for the lookout, muggles atop that seemed to be leaving.. but lingered around.. (just make up your damn mind!) finally they got a nice photo and nicked off.. after they did.. I set about looking for this cache and a GC cache. Both very close and well hidden

TFTC SDL!

932. Really funny looking at the Google Earth maps of the area and knowing what's there now. Another spot I may have been before the structure was here but no real idea anymore. Things change so rapidly. A top spot with worthwhile views.

We were here finding the GC cache, logged that and then noticed this cache was also here, so of course this must be found too Very Happy. A nice lookout and I like the grey, interspersed with the rusty colours, which make a pleasing pattern. TFTC Sol de lune.

#1148 - 12:50; This was my first visit to this new area on a caching mission. I'd walked past the cache which I'd actually come to find, mistaking the GC cache near this one for my target. Not to worry, I grabbed the GC cache, then this one before heading back from whence I came and another couple of caches to boot. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

An easy grab on a sultry afternoon walk. I kept expecting the rain to come but there was only a dozen drops in the whole walk.

Thanks for the caches Sdl, a nice little run.

CHooo 000 *FTF* - Hmmm there is another cache only a few meters away, but I guess, so long your GPS is not jumping around, and you read the hints, there shouldn't be any problems. Lovely spot, well worth another visit! Thanks SDL.
