Description

Ah, the HMAS sereis of caches.   We probably all know of the series.     Who enjoyed the walk?    Who found them all?     How many trips did it take you?    I remember it took me about 5 trips....probably not as few as some, but less than Agent Basil others.

From the GZ of this cache you can lovingly look over the river and towards an up hill section of the subject trail.   Hope it brings back some memorable moments you spent out in this section of pine forest.

Parking at S35 18.371 E149 02.684 will give you a short walk to this cache...and then it will be just a little further to another one......Cotter Depot Heliport.....whcih is another story altogether.

Spotted this one from a long way as it was glinting in the sun as it sat beneath the tree. I signed the log and re-hung it in the tree. TFTC Very Happy

This one was in good order but not hanging anymore, rather at the base of the tree!
This evening: I am getting in the habit of evening cache exercise, may it be on foot or bike, in natur or more suburban. It feels wrong if I am not out at sunset. Today a drive to Coombs and a nice walk around the edge of the suburb on the river side. 3 GCs and 2 GCAs made for a very enjoyable walk with Hoppy. Thanks for the cache SDL

My third day doing five caches along the Molonglo River took me further into Coombs. Only two of my GC caches were along the river, one was a previously solved puzzle with a challenging end to it and two suburban caches. I manged one out of two GAs as well.

I was happy to find this one as it was my fourth site and my first find. It was on the ground, and I could not spy the wire, so it is still on the ground.

Thanks

Now I remember. It isn't the AFL Series that I am not overly fond of but the 50 Places. Parked up as suggested and went looking for this little fellow. I had no intention of caching today, but after an appointed in Woden it just seemed to happen. Ended up doing 4 from this carpark then decided to move on - or will I give up? It's mighty hot today and I didn't start caching in Swinger Hill until after 12:30. I guess I'll just have to see. TFTC SDL Very HappyVery Happy

A very cold afternoon so did this one as only a short walk. Luckily this part of Wright/Coombes not fenced off, like the other nearby caches. An easy find, thanks.

GCA 1618. Found this evening after work and putting out a few caches.

With a couple of hours up my sleeve between work and picking up the kids I managed to put some caches out and then drove over and picked this one up. I've actually mixed up GA8737 and GA8738 but all balanced out now I've found them both.

19/29 today.

Second lot of GCA caches were along the river. Arrived near GZ and saw a lot of fencing. Heart sank... Drove around a bit.. found a way in and began the trail

This one took a while, but got there in the end

#GA1772 - 12:00; Dropped in to collect this cache on the way home from visiting an old friend in Stirling. I followed a rather large truck in and then as I closed in on GZ, it headed down the hill off road, so I followed it a bit further before we went our separate ways and I turned this one into a drive by Rolling Eyes. 942. Bit of a jump over here to grab a couple more and will still need to come back a couple more times to collect the outliers.

A nice walk here and loved to see an old frien of a hide. Like a comfortable pair of Uggs.

A slight problem with the parking coords and then the brand spanking new fence that has popped up. SDL was on the scene almost immediately to suss out what was happening. Oh ha hah ahahhahah , yes I did return to the HMAS trail a few times more than others. Shame on you . Now , I was about to claim this in the scavenger hunt as it has A for Australia in the title but gosh darn it, that's a hide not a find scavenge.

An easy grab on a sultry afternoon walk. I kept expecting the rain to come but there was only a dozen drops in the whole walk.

Thanks for the caches Sdl, a nice little run.

Chooo ooo *FTF* on a thundery, hot, but dry walk along this trail. Well there were 4 fat raindrops at one stage, but that was about it... A nice trail that I've been on a couple of times now, but certainly worth revisiting! Thanks for the cache SDL.
