Description

They can be just as fun to look at as going to Coney Island at Luna Park and seeing your distorted reflection. For this locationless you're looking for outdoor convex saftey mirrors, often found in tricky traffic spots where you can't see around the corner like the end of driveways, around the corners of buildings, or in car parks.

To log this locationless cache, take a photo of yourself in the convex mirror (only where safe to do so) with your GPS included in the photo. The goofier and funnier the photo the better! Note the coordinates and any other safety information that may be relevent. You are welcome to log as many mirrors as you like but there must be at least one other log in between your entries.

Spotted this one in the back streets of Hornsby, it seems to be there to let people know coming from the house opposite to see if it is safe to exit the driveway. Being on the crest of a hill I expect parked cars block their view of anything coming. Thanks ziggiau for the cache.

This convex mirror is located on the 9th tee at Coffs Harbour Golf course. This hilly course has a network of sealed trails for motorised buggies. The 9th tee is at an intersection of these trails and we think that's the reason for this mirror. The distorted image is this cacher with 16 year old budding golfer son as we concluded our round of way too many shots on the front nine. It was very wet underfoot on the course today. From the 9th tee to the 9th green (uphill par 4 of about 340m) the heavens opened up big time and any dry part of our being was no longer dry by the time we got to the geo-mobile.
Thanks for the locationless concept Ziggiau. I'll be noticing them much more from here on!
cheers

Hi ziggiau
Yesterday we attended the Dover Seafood Fest, Dover, Tasmania; after which I went in search of GC7H682 "Arve Falls" in the Hartz Mountains when I came across this mirror at a crossroad in the South West of Tasmania.
The mirror is used to stop accidents as is the norm but in this case; it captured the images of my car, me taking this photograph and the sun
Sainted at 0700 hours
Happy Easter, happy April fools day

I was driving near Longford (Tas) today and came across this convex mirror just before the Longford Racecourse. I can imagine it is pretty useful as it is a completely blind corner. Thanks Ziggiau for organising this cache.

Outdoor reflector mirror in North Leura, in the Blue Mountains . . .

Found this one Queen's Road, just where the driveway of the Blue Mountains Retirement Village emerges . . .

Two photos, including one where you can see me leaning out of my car's window in order to snap the shot!

Near the intersection of Waverley Rd and Batesford Rd in Malvern East, Victoria.
A replacement mirror on a steel pole with the old timber frame still hanging from the wooden lamp post. I drive past this mirror every day and use it to safely exit the nearby street. Seeka was hanging around the pole, as you would expect. Very HappyClan Phoenix

We have seen convex mirrors in many places, but it took us a while to locate one close to home. Finally we remembered that the exit from the carpark at the Perfecta Cherry orchards in Ulverstone has a convex mirror. So off we went and took the required photo which has been added to the Gallery. We will be back next week for the opening of the cherry season. By then the carpark will be packed out. Thanks Ziggiau for the cache.

Found one close to home, used by a resident to get clear vision to pull onto South Arm Road. Mrs W is in the photo with gps around her neck and phone in hand. If you zoom in i am visible. Seeka was with me and hogged the limelight. TFTL
