Description

Hidden in amongst the rocks with a view

The cache is NOT at the published Co Ordinates. This cache has been hidden for the 2016/2017 summer games . From the parking area have a really good look in the direction of the final Co Ordinates. Yes the hide is up there somewhere.  There is long grass and hidden on the ground in that grass are rocks that can not be seen. Long grass so be aware of snakes. Watch out for any younger geocachers you may take with you. Watch out for the spiny plants on the way up and over the rocks. Some of the rocks are loose so watch your feet. There are a few animal tracks in the area but no designated walking tracks. Also our Aussie pest, Lantana is  ere as well so watch that you do not get scratched. You are seeking a regular sized black cammo length of 90mm storm water pipe. Please replace where found and cover well. Should take about forty minuts maximum to get to GZ and back.

In summer once you get back to the car park spotyou may wish to wander down to the very well known and visited swimming hole.  There is an walk way and steps to the picnic area but watch the rocky area at the bottom.  There is alos an earthcache in the vicinity.

Now for the puzzle. Geocachingtoolbox.com could be helpful. this is a simple puzzle to solve.  Caesar had 13. What a lot of ROT.

Day 3 of our trip around the south east Qld and day 2 in Nanango. Heading out of town today and the plan was to head down for this one before heading to Toogoolawah for the ICEM we missed in the storm a couple of night ago.

Arrived in the location and guessed where we might be headed and parking the car it was all go. Didn't take long to choose a path and before too long we heading up the hill and towards GZ. Once at GZ the cache was quickly spotted and the log signed. Sat around for a few minutes checking out the view, grabbing a couple of photos before heading back down to the car and off for a drive.

Thanks Youngoldfella....haven't been here before so it was an enjoyable visit. Recommended

#GA3557 - 08:30; Day 3 of the South East Queensland tour with Sol de lune. After a big day of caching around Nanango yesterday, where our efforts exceeded our expectations, we set off to grab a few more caches in the wider region. This was our first stop for the morning and despite its looks, we managed the climb for this cache without incident. On arrival at GZ, the nice sized cache was quickly spotted and we added our names to the log. After enjoying the views at the top, we made the descent and hit the road again. Our second weekend in Maidenwell after a false start to another event.
Our “Raising Hell in Maidenwell” cache run, it was supposed to be a car show but incorrect info on the website had Scooby Doo (Subaru Outback) and the Mystery Machine (Caravan & Mobile GeoHQ), stacked, loaded and ready to go on the wrong weekend. With Mr RF hanging for a day off and a trip anywhere, we decided to change the weekend into a cache run with a visit to the Maidenwell Hotel Saturday night for the monthly “Pig on a Spit”. Basing the Mystery Machine (Van) in the pubs free camping area Friday afternoon for a Sunday departure we headed off to do some caches. Now we are back for the car event.
Solved this one before we came out last weekend, I’m sure I’ve done other caches in about the same area almost 10 years ago. A pretty easy walk into the bush, the protracted dry weather means a lot of the grasses have died back and it was fairly easy to pick my way through logs and stones to the cache.
We took nothing but memories; we left nothing but footprints and our tag.
The hide is excellent, the container is in good nick with plenty of trading stock inside and the log is in good condition and ready for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.
Cheers

With the GeoCruiser back from the repair shop we were on a mission to keep it running in the heat today, aircon on full, lowish on fuel and off we went.

Oh of course we picked up a few caches along the way. Anxious

Solved this one a few days ago so had to make sure we grabbed it today. Mrs Felix walked back up the steps to the cruiser but Mr Felix made a diversion or 2!!!

Woohoo! FTF Dancing

After no luck here yesterday we had to give it another crack today. (Thanks YOF for pointing out an error.)
The puzzle was easy enough. Parked the car at coords then hiked 'up there'.
We followed the GPSr - coords spot on. Smile A well stocked cache and a clean log book. Nice. Very Happy

Thanks so much for your effort in putting this cache and puzzle together youngoldfella. We then found another nearby cache and then walked to the waterhole. Lovely spot.
