Complete your Australian Pokedex on Pokemon GO!
Gotta Catch 'em All!
Pokemon GO! or PoGo for short stormed onto our smartphones in July 2016. I was lucky enough through my Ingress play to be one of the early beta testers. When it officially realeased (and they deleted all my progress :'( ) despite its simple gameplay the Mrs and I joined the hoards and in the early weeks we experienced the amazing sight of hundreds of people of all ages flocking around the streets of Sydney to play an augmented reality GPS game. It was a unique fad, possibly never to be repeated. Geeky pop culture from the 90's and cutting edge tech was not only socially acceptible, but you looked weird if you WEREN'T playing. Like all fads though the majority of the public quickly lost interest and only the hard core geeks, primarily 20-30 somethings like us who were the original target audience back in the 90's, kept at it and continued to play regularly. Now it has settled into the background of all the other the other GPS games, but has done us all a favour by making following an arrow more socially acceptable... or at least explainable!
To Log this Cache - Complete the Gen 1 "Aussie" Pokedex
The next problem PoGo! faces is its own success. Where to now? That is left to be seen but with many players 'finishing' the game of "Gotta Catch 'em All!" the devs have to step up to the challenge of keeping the game fresh. Last week I join the ranks of 'finishers' and completed my Gen 1 "Australian" Pokedex. Your challenge, is to do the same! Currently that means you need a Dex showing you've caught 143 of the Generation I Pokemon that don't require overseas travel. In other words, everything bar Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres (as yet unreleased), Tauros (only in North America), Farfetched (Only in Japan), and Mr Mime (Only in Europe). I'll update this perhaps if the these guys become available. You WILL need to grab Ditto! :D
Take screenshots and upload them to your log for verification. 1st shot should be your profile page, 2nd shot is the top of your pokedex, like my example below then continue to screen shot to the end of Gen 1. Good hunting crew! It is a great distraction when walking between caches... a bit hard on the battery though! ;)

Logs
https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the "Find" with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.
The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.
As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.
I have been playing Pokemon Go for a few years now however since having a foot injury, I have not been walking much at all so my player time has been limited.
I have managed to catch the entire Kanto Region pokemon and am still working on a few of the newer ones.
Thanks for the challenge Zalgariath!
thankyou for the location less
Attached the required screenshots of my profile and the Pokedex screen showing all 151 caught Pokemon from Generation 1.
Thanks to Zalgariath for this locationless!
TFTC, Brainiac03
With only one missing to complete the Kanto set, I was finally able to capture a Gloom and evolve Vileplume for the 145th, to be able to log this
Thanks for the Locationless Zalgariath
Now for generation 2 eh?
Do you need a) a pokedex of 143
b) complete Australian pokedex including gen 2
c)complete gen 1 pokedex.
The current wording in different parts could indicate any of these as acceptable and just wanted to check what I'm aiming for here
