Description

Easy walk in light rough

I am hiding this one as part of the Summer Scavenger Games 2017/2016.  You are seeking a Regular sized container about the size of a Lunch Box. It is a Cammo Black Sistema container.

There are at least three (other sites) hides within easy walk of this hide and there are many more along the track. You can park up on the Highway alongside the Walking track and wander over. About a 300 meter walk. You can also take the bush track that comes off the Nanango Tarong Road on the left if heading towards Maidenwell and it is  not far from the intersection with the Highway.  If you chose to come in via the Bush Track and it is an all wether sand track you will only have a very short distance to walk and the hide should be very obvious.  Please be careful crossing lanes.  I would suggest you drive further along the road and do a U Turn and then take the exit. The hide is not far opff the track in ligh rough. The grass is not very long and  the terrain is easy.  At time of placement the container contained Log BOok, Pen and some  swaps.  Enjoy

I love finding a cache that hasn't been found for quite a while!!!!!!!!!!!
I arrived at GZ and had a look around and a bit of a poke, but nothing came to light.
I then resorted to the clue, and had a deeper dig in that area, and I felt something that wasn't organic.
Digging a little deeper through the decayed matter, a plastic container was unearthed, literally!!!
It was in surprisingly good condition, and the insides were totally dry. Amazing!!!!
So I signed the log, put the cache back where it came from, covered it a little, for the next cacher to discover.
Cache in good condition.

#GA3542 - 16:44; Day 2 of the South East Queensland tour with Sol de lune. Made it to Nanango late yesterday after getting belted by a storm later in the afternoon/early evening. Much to our relief the heavy rain seems to be moving on and it is only overcast and occasional light drizzle this morning. Spending today caching around Nanango and Kingaroy and hoping to clear a swag of GCA puzzles from the 'solved but unfound' list we have been compiling for the past couple of years. We were now underway and enjoying a variety of cache types and hides, some taking longer than other to make the find amongst the long grasses and having to make the right choice from the variety of possibilities available. Also enjoyed solving the puzzles, even though there was plenty of head scratching and later on forehead slapping along the way! Towards the end of the day we met the CO himself, who joined us for some geobanter as we collected some caches close to home. Really appreciate the effort that has gone into placing and maintaining the many caches in the area. I've seen plenty of bush here today looking for caches too! As we were parked close to this cache when finding another one, I took the stroll to check this one.
A quick find in the obvious spot.

Onto another cache find that was on our to do list for today. Here is Mr GT54 being an athlete and throwing his hiking stick as a javelin thrower for our claim on the Geo sports 2018 challenge. We found the cache easily. Signed the log sheet and replaced the cache as found. Thanks YOf. TFTC Clan MinotaurClan MinotaurVery Happy
