Description

Top panoramic views of the Hawkesbury River at this spot and a lovely day out.

Little Wobby is a boat-access only township which was established in WWII to support artillery batteries set up to prevent the Japanese entering Broken Bay.

It can be reached by ferry from Brooklyn. Once there, wind your way along the waterfront and past the various houses (public access allowed although it feels strange!), then along the road to Spring Beach where you pass an access track down to the beach on the right. WP1 (S33° 33.486' E151° 15.067'): On the left take the rough track which goes via to two lovely caves and then heads steeply up the hill. The track becomes easier to follow as you reach the top and head along the spur to the main track at WP2 (S33° 33.287' E151° 15.159'). Turn left here and it will take you to Tumblecow2 Flat Rock lookout and the cache. When you make your way back down, if the ferry isn't due for a while, Spring Beach is a great spot to stop and rest, have a swim and enjoy the water views into Porto Bay and Cowan Creek.

The terrain rating is a little higher due to the access requirement of the ferry (or your own boat)

Still in good condition but obviously not a popular spot for cachers to visit Sad

A lovely walk with Blossom and Strike-a-Light brought us to this great lookout with the added bonus of a cache. Thanks for keeping this cache alive.

What a great day for a walk with the CO blossom* and strike-a-light. Not entirely sure I would have navigated the maze of tracks successfully without the cheerful help of my companions.
In the end the cache was found pretty much where it was expected to be all is well, log signed and returned to it's hide. Let's hope it won't be another 6 months before it is found again.
This is a wonderful area with great views from the top of the cliffs.
Thank you for a good cache and a great location. So glad I came back here.
