Description

Cache is NOT at the published co-ords......but it is a little higher up the hill.

Another cache placed for the SSS game of 2016/2017.    GZ will give you some neat views over the Canberra suburb of Conder, as well as the rest of the Lanyon Valley and the southern end of Tuggeranong.    To find GZ, which is at S35 27.ABC E149 07.DEF, you will need to answer these few questions based on the area.     Wikipedia will be your friend.....an once you have GZ and you make it up there, you will be able to find a few other caches as well.    Hope you enjoy the walk/climb.....along with the great views.

Now, the questions:

The Canberra suburb of Conder is named after the artist Charles Conder?    If yes A = 9, if no A = 2

The small village of Tharwa is a little further north of Condor?   If yes B = 9, if no B = 0

The streets in Conder after named after artists?    If yes C = 3, if no C = 8

The suburb of Conder was gazetted in 1970?    If yes D = 7, if no D = 2

The suburb of Conder was established in 1991?   If yes E = 0, if no E = 5

The suburb of Conder is in the Federal Division/Electorate of Canberra?   If yes F = 9 if no F = 3

You can check your GZ with the checker. listed in the menu on the right......

A nice easy find and good views from the top of the hill. I think the best way to get to this hill is to use the powerline road on the eastern side of it, even though I park near the substation. For those doing the questions, there has been a redistribution of electorate boundaries since the questions were written so the last question no longer has the correct answer for getting the coordinates. Not content with finding GA10026, and Monk Hill Trig, Teeven and I set about finding this cache..

I don't know if we picked the hard way, or what, but what a climb!!!

We got separated on the ascent (Teeven initially didn't want to climb, but did so about 5 minutes after I did).. so Finding each other at the end was fun..

Coooeeeee, a *FTF* at 7:44am. WHATTTTT, a month has gone by and no-one has found it yet? Too hard? Certainly not the puzzle, which I knew all the answers for without resorting to other sources other than memory. And certainly not the terrain!!!!!!

Being a local, I know the easy way up here, far far easier than the direct assault. A mere 45 minute walk from home and I had the cache. Then went a bit further up the hill to check on my GC cache, and took a pic of the 3 suburbs, Conder, Gordon & Banks. Thanks Sol, a pleasant early morning walk indeed; now to go and do some real exercise for the day ..... Mr. Green
