Description
A scavenger cache for the Summer Scavenger Series
What can you find at this spot? a cone from a banksia? a spear from a grasstree? red flakey bark from a geebung? pink waxy flowers from an eriostemon? pink trunks of angophoras?
It's a lovely walk along the ridge above Little Wobby and you're likely to see lots of different trees, flowers and rocks as you wend your way along.
Little Wobby is a boat-access only spot and can be reached by ferry from Brooklyn. Once there, wind your way along the waterfront and past the various houses (public access allowed although it feels strange!), then along the road to Spring Beach where you pass an access track down to the beach on the right. WP1 (S33° 33.486' E151° 15.067'): On the left take the rough track which goes via to two lovely caves and then heads steeply up the hill. The track becomes easier to follow as you reach the top and head along the spur to the main track at WP2 (S33° 33.287' E151° 15.159'). Turn left here and it will take you to the cache. When you make your way back down, if the ferry isn't due for a while, Spring Beach is a great spot to stop and rest, have a swim and enjoy the water views into Porto Bay and Cowan Creek.
The terrain rating is a little higher due to the access requirement of the ferry (or your own boat)
