Description
Sometimes you have to explore a little further
Another cache in a small series of caches encouraging you to explore a little beyond the path. In this instance you will be climbing some old forgotten stairs. I am unsure of the origin of these stairs wether they were public or private but they once used to give easy access to the top of the cliff. Nowadays the stairs are barely visible as they are so over grown the any track that was barely exists now. The cache is placed close to the edge of cliffs and it is encouraged to take precaution as you search for this cache. As always enjoy

Logs
Looks way to dangerous for this 53 yr old woman. Have to climb wall to get to stairs and they look so rusty and overgrown that I would be scared there are no steps left anymore. Also very close to the Highway and many muggles would be reporting this strange women climbing the side of the cliff.
My auntie 'cathlud' and I came looking for this cache last summer but we couldn't find it. Today we came back because I wanted to find it. After climbing through the tunnel my auntie told me how to climb around the edge of the cliff. After I signed the log we looked down at all the people walking along the beach.
TFTC Ikkibrady. We are also collecting points for the summer game.

Today I climbed the 'forgotten stairs' for a third time and this time I found the cache, signed the log and took a view shot.
I left my holiday house early this morning hoping to get back before the rest of the family woke up. As I drove along Point Nepean Road towards Anthony's Nose Boat Ramp I saw one car. It was parked directly opposite the 'forgotten stairs' and the owner was standing on the beach wall fishing. This did not deter me, so I just parked a few spots further up the road and walked back to the stairs. The stairs and tunnel were easily negotiated as I have traveled this route before and then it was a relatively easy, but steep climb to the spot that I had visualized from 'google maps'. Heeding the CO's advise that no bush bashing was required I located the cache in the third place that I examined. I had a big smile on my face when I saw the container as I have a box of them in my lounge room and I was glad to see one in the wild.
Thank you ikkibrady for this cache. It has been a great experience for me and now my scratched and bruised arms and legs can recover.

Another unsuccessful search yesterday (23/01) but I have now read the CO's note, the FTF and STF logs and will go back next weekend with new information and energy to search again.
As it turns out, my disasterous planning for the girls weekend I was on had worked out in my favour. I'd written down Saturday and Sunday as the two days I was going to need babysitters, but found out that I was actually supposed to be picked up at 10am on the Friday to be chaufferred down to Rosebud for the weekend. With no babysitters in sight, I ended up driving myself down here after my husband got home from work.....but it meant I had my own vehicle for the weekend. This was my last stop before committing to the long drive home, but the terrain/difficulty level combo excited me for the scavenger hunt. I parked initially up above the cache, in one of the streets and walked down towards gz but this is not the way to go!!! So I returned and found myself in the correct parking spots opposite the cache as mentioned in Sol de Lune's log. After that, the staircase was spotted....well, rails anyway, and I made my ascent. Thanking my lucky stars this time, for being a shorty, I was able to navigate the tunnel with some ease and ascend to the views. It took quite some searching to locate which tree was the one indicated in the hint as my gps wouldn't put me within 25m no matter what I did. A happy find ensued and my name is on the log. Well, that was fun...
Found the stairs ok...if you can really call them that....and parked across the road. Once across the road and over the safety barrier, it was up the stairs....carefully....and then another little climb/duck/swerve and I found myself at GZ. Cache was easily spotted once there and it was then a simple matter of signing in the nicely marked out rectangle in the log book.
A few neat views from up there, and managed to snap a couple (attached) before making my way down. A couple of scratches and bumps on the way down, but cool to knock off a fun little cache.
Thanks ikkibrady....interesting spot, nice challenge and cool views.

Cache was still in place. Checked coords and provided coords. Only about 7m out though but in this area can make a big difference. Note there apart from the "tunnel" at the start there is no real bush bash bashing needed and is actually quite a clear path to the cache... just steep.
My 11 year old niece and I were ready for a challenge this afternoon so we decided to try this cache. We knew exactly where to park and quickly located the old steps but after that our luck ran out. According to my GPSr we were right on GZ but no matter how many places we searched we were unable to find the cache . After 20 minutes of searching we gave up. Our tired, scratched legs carried us back down the cliff to the safety of our car. My niece enjoyed herself and reminded me to write this DNF log.
Thank you for providing us with a challenge for this afternoon.
