Description

Western Freeway Path Traditional [SSS]

Western Freeway Path Traditional [SSS] is a traditional geocache hidden for the Summer Scavenger Series.

A nondescript area that just seemed about the right size to hide a regular (1 litre) sistema container. The area has few visually redeeming features but it is a nice walk and at the end of the Summer Scavenger Series there should be a nice series of geocaches hidden along here that will have a lot of varying difficutlies, terrains, types and containers.

Come along and find this one and do the rest of the path while you're here.

A bit less bike friendly than some, but I found a spot to stash it while I found a way to GZ.

I decided to continue exploring the western bike trails... this time the Western Freeway was my target, so I caught the train to Sunshine to ride the last section of the Kororoit Creek before continuing westward.

A fine evening, and a mostly successful hunt (apart from a couple of fruitless scrambles in the bushes), and edging closer to the 10% target I want to maintain.

Thanks, GabGab.

#GA1837 - 09:00; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week is to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. This was one of 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, where we only had the one DNF! Apologies for the mostly generic logs. TFTC GabGab Very HappyClan Cerberus

Off and running now along the path and it was simply a matter of riding, stopping, finding the cache, signing the log, replacing the cache and then moving on to the next one. No problems here and we were soon on our way again.

Thanks for one GabGab....

We had arrived in Melbourne early to catch the Spirit of Tasmania back to Tassie tonight. That gave us the opportunity to look for more caches along the Western Ring Path, ones that we didn't find in April because we ran out of time. We were pleased that the rain of yesterday had gone and, apart from a cold breeze, the walking conditions were very pleasant. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks caughtatwork for the cache and the series.

Next stop after a short bike ride.

No one on the trail today.

Ducked into the likely GZ and picked up a quick find.

The second on an evening to get some caches for the Summer Scavenger Series. Another nice cache here and a regular size too. Not too may of these sorts around nowadays. Hopefully the placement of something regular size will encourage others.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache here GabGab.
