Set out to get some of the GA's in the area, with much help from the CO's. Is that a surprise to anyone?!

#GA2339 - 12:20; Day two of the Macquarie mayhem cache hunt with Sol de lune and andrewbt. After a big day one with 56 out 59 finds, we were optimistic about another successful day two. A few cold ones, a few logs and a few more claims for the States of the Nation game set the scene for a good night's sleep and a spring in our step as we packed up and hit the trail again today. Hope the CO's are enjoying all the Karma points rolling in as we get through our logs . Crossed the road from the previous find and did a bit of bush bashing until we hit a track which took us close to GZ. Got down and dirty, but found the cache in the logical spot. TFTC teamMerlin

Spent a bit of time in this general area gathering up the caches we had solved and those we could get. No issues here and we soon had our names in the book. Walking along the track at the top gave some great views over the river.

Wow great fun GZ! A warm but not too hot walk in the area trying to clock up a few caches in the summer games. The shade here is nice while taking on some water and plotting how to safely get some of the others nearby. Cheers!

International geocaching day & after the event at the winery some of us set off to tackle some of the more difficult ones in the area.
Glad to be able to tick a few of these off the list. Great views.

Back in the area for my weekly cache run and again coming in via Sackville Ferry. Wanted to clear a couple of nearby T4's but being on my own, they were just too risky. Continued along some zigzag tracks to make the find in a nice spot that would have kept Santa cool while he and the elves were doing their thing.

The temperature was more bearable outside the shed today but the humidity made up for it and I was soaking after just a couple of short walks around here. I went ahead to check for slitherers then the pup came bounding in as MummyPenny brought up the rear. Thanks again Team Merlin.

Solved this one before I went away and didn't have an opportunity to get it then. I arrived home after lunch today. After unpacking and settling things at home I decided it was cool enough to tackle today. I parked at the lookout and set off on the walk along a path. Deciding a bush bash was needed I set off mapping my path through the bush until I approached GZ. Then deciding how to get there. I took a longer way around to get there and a shorter way out after finding and signing the log.
Thanks for the puzzle and cache TeamMerlin

I needed a hint on where to look for this solution as I'm not the best at solving puzzles but then it was all good. Santa must have headed off for a holiday as Christmas is now 51 weeks away but he'd planted some lantana to guard his hideaway. There are plenty of clear paths but of course I didn't pick them on the way in. Much better on the way out luckily

With a little hint and the melting elements we were able to determine the needed coordinates for this cache.
Had a spare afternoon so headed out to grab a few more caches to the Summer Scavenger hunt.
By reading the log I took the longer approach following a clear path to get to GZ.
This was certainly the less painful I am glad I didn't go through that lantana.
Approaching GZ chose the most direct and safest entry to reach the the hidden Engineering Shed.
All was quite at the shed must be a holiday today I signed the log and returned as found it was now time to find the next cache.

Where do I start while on the train going into town this morning decided to try to work this one out. Played with a couple of ideas that didn’t give me an answer. Then something in the description gave me another idea & with that I ended up with some valid coordinates. Went to the check coordinates but must have pressed enter thinking it was taking it's time and got invorrect coords on S00 0.000 E 000 0.000, then I had to wait 2 minutes to be able to put in the correct workings and that gave me the OK. On my way home I came out to look for the cache as I was driving found a spot that was 31 metres from GZ, so found a good place to park & walked down at 56 metres from GZ saw a likely way in and off I headed at 15 metres the bushes decided to grab my shin to stop me finding the cache but fought my way through and after a couple of changes in path got to the cache. Cool a blank page, signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the mystery teamMerlin
