Description
Having moved back to Dunedin nearly 8 weeks ago, it is past time that I published my first Dunedin cache. This was originally going to be published on geocaching.com, but couldn't do that due to the GC proximity policy. The camo object couldn't be hidden anywhere else, so the cache has become Dunedin's first GCA traditional, and New Zealand's first cache with container size 'Nano'.
The cache is a camo nano on private property with the permission of the property manager/lessee.
It is above waist height and accessible from the footpath, but you will have to place one foot in the garden bed - please do so carefully.
Use your eyes before stepping into the garden!

Looks like this is no longer in place, so we'll archive it. If it does reappear, the listing can simply be reinstated.
Thanks for placing the cache on Geocaching Australia....

Hi there firnsy - I found this cache after a short search on 02-05-2022 - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to firnsy for this cache.

Yes, the cache will go if/when the business is sold. There will be some lead time and I will try to remember to post a note ahead of archiving the cache.
Oooh my first tangible GCA cache and first attributed Nano find. So many micros out there are listed as smalls - if it fits in the hand and has no room for swag of a pencil - It's a micro! Fluffed around finding a park and walk back to the GZ. I should have used an allocated park at the Uni but it was in use today by my No.1 . One look and hooah spotted it straight away. Noice cache BUTTTT had a little difficulty accessing the nano. Was just about to apply my TOTT when the CO wandered up, that was so nice to meet you Firnsy! A quick natter about a few caching items and permission granted to log the nano since I never got it open to SL lol . Returned nano to it's spot. That experience had me giggling all the way back to the pony. TFTC

Was in town off the good ship Pacific Princess and decided to have a coffee with an old mate near by! And he happened to be the CO for this. He did mention that there was a GCA cache nearby and it hadn’t been found and if we got stuck he was close by to offer a hint! So after a great catch up and coffee we had a good look around, tapped a few likely spots then I spotted something just ever so slightly different! Ha ha! He’s been to the Duck43 school of tricky ness, and it did prove fruitful, even if a little hard top get full access to. She completed signing duties and I replaced as found, its all ready to go for the next finder.
Thanks mate for a great cache and it was also fantastic to catch up and have a chat with both of you, and look forward to our next visit, next time I hope a little longer. 5 Thunbs up from me and it would be a FP if it was a GC one

I had a quick look for this back in January but couldn't find anything. Felt very self-conscious! Seven months later I had another look today. This time I had a theory based on the cache name. But still nothing. I wonder if I could throw myself on the mercy of the owner for a hint?
Yep, it is still active and waiting to be found. Note that it is NOT beneath any foliage and is well above ground level ... no need to get down into the garden.
Whilst I am the leaseholder of the property and only my permission is required to access the cache, we do have a grumpy gardener who doesn't know about the cache, so watch out for him.

Just wondering whether the CO can confirm that this cache is still active? It remains unfound since being hidden a year ago. I am keen to go for it but given that it is on private property (with permission) I would like to know that all is still OK with the placement before I do. Many thanks.
Sorry you missed it Sol de lune ... the person looking out the nearby window was probably me
In Dunedin, our last stop while on a cruise from Australia. After lunch I headed down to GZ, with limited time, to see if I could score this one. GPS seemed to be ok and I'm sure I was in the right area, but with a few muggles around...and someone looking out a nearby window, I didn't search as closely as I would normally.
Chances are the cache is still there.....safe and sound, but alas, it was a no go for me.
Thanks anyway Firnsy......hopefully I can make amends on another trip....
