Description

Mount Isa is known as the Rodeo capital of Australia. Some of the past rodeo stars are honoured along the western half of Marian Street in the middle of town. This cache is the first in a series of caches to get you out and discover some of those names. The final location is a fair walk from the starting point so I would advise driving to the GZ

The cache is located at:

S 20° 4A.BCD‛  E 139° 3E.FGH‛

The following Cowboys were

Shane Kenny all around cowboy in 2001 and 200A

Buddy Gravener all around cowboy in 196B

Jim McGuire all around cowboy in 1963, 196C and 197C

Dale Caban all around cowboy in 200D

Now for East

Mark Price all around cowboy in 200E

Danny McGuire all around cowboy in 198F

Dudley Kearney all around cowboy in 196G

And finally, one of the girls...

Jan Saunders was all around cowgirl in 200H

This cache is a Nano close to a busy road.  Please place back as found

Alice trip 2017. Day 24. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I spent the morning caching around Mt Isa then started driving east, visiting Cloncurry and Winton. The information was gathered the previous day and today we went and collected the caches for these three puzzles.

Thanks

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1455. Found during Day 16 of my epic 21 day visit to Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience Event and further travels after that.

Flew into Alice Springs and met up with my fellow intrepid team members Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n for the start of an amazing trip throughout the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and eventually back to Canberra. The Red Centre Experience is the main attraction of course, but also on our agenda are a lot of GC Caches, lots of trigs, as well as plenty of GCA Trads, History and Virtual Caches (and maybe the odd beer or two ??!! Smile. Go Clan Cerberus !

Here in Mt Isa - Having a chance at 3 GCA Puzzles was too good to miss so after some fun gathering the required info 3 GZs were calculated and visited. A fun series of caches !

#GA1588 - 08:40; Day 26 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965. After our first night in Queensland, it was time to add to our cache finds around Mt Isa, before heading to Mary Kathleen, Cloncurry, McKinley and on to Winton for the night. This was our second stop for this series after gathering the required information and solving the puzzle the previous evening. Not sure what the woman across the road might have been thinking as we extracted and replaced the cache, as we only noticed here on her verandah as we were leaving Embarassed TFTC MalDawg Very HappyClan Cerberus

Arrived in Mt Isa and headed into town to gather the required info. Took a while to find everything but all was good and GZ was over dinner and a beer. No problem with that and the next morning the find was made without an issue.

Thanks MalDawg.....interesting little puzzle.

Staying overnight in Mt Isa. Along with Tassie Trekkers we did the necessary ground work and come up with a set of coordinates. At GZ the cache was found easily. A blank log sheet. A joint **FTF**. TFTC Clan Minotaur

Staying in Mt Isa overnight as we continue our journey to Alice Springs.

Took a walk around the streets with Gullivers Travels54 and found the required info to complete this cache. Once at GZ made a quick find.

As the log book was blank we will claim Joint [*FTF*]

Thanks MalDawg
