Description

J & J's forty-eighth geocache hide. Another delve into the GCA stats pages.

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, and is in fact more than 5 kilometres away.

www.geocaching.com.au has a fairly impressive database of statistics relating to geocaches, geocachers and many other things related to our hobby.

In order to determine the coordinates for this cache, you will have to do a bit of digging through the Geocaching Australia website and answer the following questions:

A= number of GCA caches hidden by the least prolific GCA hider in South Australia during September 2010

B= number of GCA caches found by the most prolific GCA finder in Western Australia during July 2007

C= number of finds logged against the second most popular GCA cache in all of Australia during November 2005

D= the number of GCA Virtual type caches were logged in Queensland in January 2015

E= number of GCA+GC caches hidden in the Northern Territory during June 2003

V= number of GCA caches hidden in Victoria during September 2008

W= number of GCA caches hidden by the most prolific GCA hider in Tasmania during November 2011

X= number of GCA caches hidden in New South Wales during September 2003

Y= number of GCA+GC caches found by the most prolific finder in the Australian Capital Territory during April 2002

Z= number of GCA+GC caches that received finds in the Australian Capital Territory during all of 2001

Once you have all ten questions answered correctly, simply substitute your answers into the following set of coordinates.

S35° AB.CDE

E138° VW.XYZ

Your search for the above answers should start here: http://geocaching.com.au/stats/caches/gca/au

To find stats relating to earlier years, you will need to manually adjust the URL in the address bar of your browser.

At your calculated GZ you will be looking for a regular sized Sistema container painted in cammo colours. It contains a variety of new swaps, as well as the standard logbook, pen, stashnote and dessicant in a zip-lock bag.

Happy hunting!

We really enjoyed the three Stats Scavenger caches as they gave us the opportunity to look at some of the achievements of other cachers over the years, particularly cachers from other states. After a short amount of research, we had a set of coordinates which were confirmed by the Coordinate Checker. Just prior to lunch we went to look for the cache. Given the hint, Mr y'stassie was delegated to look for this cache. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks J_&_J for another interesting puzzle and for the cache. As there were no entries in the logbook, we will claim FTF at 11:40.
