Description

Mount Isa is known as the Rodeo capital of Australia. Some of the past rodeo stars are honoured along the western half of Marian Street in the middle of town. This cache is the third in a series of caches to get you out and discover some of those names. The final location is a short drive across town and a 15 minute hike to a location that will give you great views over town

Spinefex was the feature horse in 196C to 1966

John Brearly was all around cowboy in 197D and 1975

This cache is a large systema and may require you to park your car at a nearby road and take a short Hike up one of the many hills in Mount Isa. Don't forget to bring your camera!

Alice trip 2017. Day 24. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I spent the morning caching around Mt Isa then started driving east, visiting Cloncurry and Winton. The information was gathered the previous day and today we went and collected the caches for these three puzzles.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1457. Found during Day 16 of my epic 21 day visit to Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience Event and further travels after that.

Flew into Alice Springs and met up with my fellow intrepid team members Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n for the start of an amazing trip throughout the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and eventually back to Canberra. The Red Centre Experience is the main attraction of course, but also on our agenda are a lot of GC Caches, lots of trigs, as well as plenty of GCA Trads, History and Virtual Caches (and maybe the odd beer or two ??!! Smile. Go Clan Cerberus !

Here in Mt Isa - Having a chance at 3 GCA Puzzles was too good to miss so after some fun gathering the required info 3 GZs were calculated and visited. A fun series of caches !

#GA1589 - 09:05; Day 26 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965. After our first night in Queensland, it was time to add to our cache finds around Mt Isa, before heading to Mary Kathleen, Cloncurry, McKinley and on to Winton for the night. This was our third and last stop for this series after gathering the required information and solving the puzzle the previous evening. After making the find, we again took advantage of the location to take in some of the views. TFTC MalDawg Very Happy

Sol de lune

Last of the 3 rodeo puzzles and again, after checking the photo's we soon had a good looking set of co-ords. Took a few minutes to find a way to GZ, but once we did that the cache was soon in hand. Very pleased to grab all 3 in this little series.

Thanks again MalDawg....was an interesting drive to GZ, but we got there...

Staying in Mt Isa overnight as we continue our journey to Alice Springs.

Took a walk around the streets with Gullivers Travels54 and found the required info to complete this cache. Once at GZ made a quick find.

As the log book was blank we will claim Joint [*FTF*]
