Description

A large cache in a bush setting, that's old school caching.....!

Are you sick of mint tins and/or nano buttons hidden around the city, then this may be the cache you are looking for!  In fact if you are reading this description this is the cache you are looking for!

This mystery cache IS NOT at the posted coordinates.  To find GZ, you will need to find some 'missing' information about some old schools in the ACT.

The first school in what is now the ACT operated at Ginninderra from 1ABB to 1ABA. A second school was opened in the 1ABCs at St John the Baptist Church located on the Duntroon Estate within the modern day suburb of Reid. It was the only school in the Canberra region, after the closure of the Ginninderra school until the opening of a state run school at Acton in 1AAC.  Mulligan's Flat School opened in 1ADE and operated until 1DFG when it was demolished. The remains can still be seen near Gungahlin.

Once you know the answers, you'll be able to solve this puzzle and find GZ at S35 10.(A-G)D(F-G) E149 08.(E+F)C(B+G-F).

Don't forget to use the 'Check Coords' button to confirm your answer.

Now be sure not to find yourself in the naughty corner!

Wow what a fabulous area. This would definitely be the most scenic location that I have visited all day. Those trees are just magnificent and with the evening sun sinking in the west and illuminating the white trunks with shades of orange and red. Thanks for bringing me here though I was struggling with the hill late in the day - it was worth it though. Calculated this one while near the (non existent dam). As I was heading the other way, left it until my return journey. Found all OK.

Thanks,

Went out with Joolay to grab some caches for the SotN game and get the ACT score up, working on the puzzles leading up to the weekend to gain more points. This was our 4th find for the day and when we got to GZ it wasn't long till we had the cache in hand, signed the log and off to the next one, it was quite a hot day and we pushed on. tftc LucyL10N

With my caching being all at sea over the last couple of weeks, it was good to get out and find a few more caches for the SSS games. Worked out this one this morning, along with a few others, and hen headed out to make the finds....

More local history....always enjoy reading more about our part of the world. Actually took a few minute to find the info, but I knew it had to be there somewhere....and finally all was revealed. After another walk through the area, GZ was reached and the cache was in hand. Log signed and it was time to find my own spot out here before heading back to the car.

Thanks LL.....good to be back out this way again.

Out burning off some Xmas / New Year tucker and this was on the list. A nice bit of history and a nice little stroll to GZ where I found it sitting out in the open and on a log. So nice of Kittykatch to have it sitting and waiting for me. A quick chat and I went my way and she went hers. What was in her bag of goodies?

FTF - Woot! After a day of relaxing on the couch I thought I should get out and do something. Saw this cache and had an interesting time searching for the answers. I love all the Canberra history! So I headed out and made the find just in front of Boot65 who came along just after I signed the log. A bit of a chat about the game and SSS and I headed out to pick up some more caches here. Thanks again - cool puzzle:)
