Description

Frank Forde, PM

This mystery cache IS NOT at the posted coordinates.  To find GZ, you will need to do a little bit of research about Frank Forde, our shortest serving Prime Minister.  The cache can then be found at S35 C0.(A-C)BE   E149 0A.(A-D)AA.

Frank Forde was Prime Minister for only A days, B–CD July 1945, after the death of John Curtin. With unswerving loyalty to his party and its leadership, Forde was a federal parliamentarian for 24 years. For 14 years he was deputy leader of the federal parliamentary Labor Party, and for nine of those years was deputy Leader of the Opposition.

Forde was Minister for Trade and Customs in 1931, during the government of James Scullin, and Minister for the Army from 1941 to 1946, during the governments of John Curtin and Ben Chifley. He lost his seat in the 1946 election.

After leaving federal politics, Forde served as Australian High Commissioner in Ottawa, Canada until 1954. He then returned to Queensland State politics.

Frank Forde died on 28 January 1983 at the age of 9E.

You probably have a fair idea about where this cache may be located, so there is no excuse for not getting out and logging it!

Found with Joolay while caching in the area. Could not sign log as the base of the hanging bison tube is missing. I have sent the CO a photo to confirm the find. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

A quick pull off when the traffic lights not far away made it possible. Found in a hurry and back out into the traffic. TFTC LuckyL10n Very HappyVery HappyClan CerberusClan CerberusClan Cerberus

On a morning caching around Gungahlin I managed to squeeze in a few GA caches as well. It was a bit exposed, but cars rarely stop so job done as quickly as possible.

Thanks

Good hide, but it is rather in view of lots of passing muggles. TFTC LuckyL10n.

Only two finders to date. Wonder why? Did the calculations and had a read of the history behind the topic. All very interesting...as was the hide. Parked in familiar spot down the road and took the walk back to GZ. Spotted and the hide ok, then timed the grab when there was less traffic. All turned out fine and the log was soon signed.

Thanks LL.....nicely played.

FTF - and the last cache for the day!

Approached GZ and checked the hint -uh oh... could be anywhere.. fortunately the cache senses were tingling and cache was very quickly spotted..

after some discreet "bike adjustments".. the cache was in hand, signed and then back again
