Description

Paddlewheel Park is at the northern end of the iconic Port of Echuca. It is home to a number of well known paddleboats including the PS Emmylou, PS Canberra and MV Mary Ann. A number of smaller vessels often moor at Paddlewhel Park because of its easy access to the tourist drawcard of the Echuca Wharf and the many cafes and watering holes in the vicinity.

You are seeking a regular sized cache hidden within the Paddlewheel Park area. Be mindful of tourists and boat staff as the area can be very busy at times. There's plenty of parking nearby and it can be quite enjoyable sitting on the riverbank watching the comings and going of the various boats.

This is a fairly high spot in comparison to the river now but by the look of the water level on GZ it was a close thing for the cache. The log was a little doughy but under the circumstances in great shape. TFTC WazzaAndWenches.

#GA5558 - ; Day 3 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. Today we are headed west from our overnighter at the Falcon Hotel (great meals and hospitality) caching our way to Mildura, the next stop on our itinerary. After claiming the "Downunder Dunny" we were on the road again and passing through Echuca where several of the CO's caches were on the list. This one was fenced off last time we passed through, but today all was good to go. Encountered a muggle working on one of the boast as we homed in on GZ. Had a chat, including some caching basics, then it was off for the cache. Had to dig deep, but with 33 months of additional cover that should have been no surprise! Hope the next finders don't take as long to get here Whistle TFTC WazzaAndWenches Very HappyClan Cerberus

LuckyL10n and I attended the Mega at Wangaratta and then headed to Mildura as LL had some non caching business to sort, and Echuca was our first overnight stop. The plan was to grab a few GCA caches that we had DNF'd on a previous visit. No issues with this one today and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand. Log was signed, cache replaced and we off few more.

The area certainly looks great now. Lots of work and no doubt a lot of money, however all for the good by the look of it.

Thanks WandW..first find in a few years for this one.

Fences removed. A lot of money spent. A lot of work done. A much nicer area to view the river and paddlesteamers.
Cache is good to go again

Staying in Echuca tonight, headed off for a walk after a days driving. Found the second place searched. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC

A quick find in an obvious spot and just nicely away from the main muggle traffic.
Even though we have visited Echuca many times before we still love to sit and watch the paddle steamers. Had one pass by today while we were nearby.
Got a bit enthused about the sign saying free paddle boat rides but then we read the fine print. Guess you've got to buy a meal.
Thanks.

We had a lovely trip on The PS Canberra this Easter Saturday afternoon, but the area was way too crowded to attempt any physical caches, so I drove over the river tonight to see what I could snaffle.

This was lucky last before heading back; not quite where I had speculated from afar, but close.

Thanks, WazzaAndWenches.

A nice easy one in a great place to check out. The GPSr had me wandering around and then the geo-senses took over.
Good to see the PS Canberra in town. Go the A.C.T. Laughing
Thanks WAW for the cache and the fun.

Sorry for the late log, but I am finally catching up on my logs.On an overnight stay here, we thought we would grab some caches while doing the touristy thing. Thanks for showing me the area. TFTC WazzaAndWenches Very Happy

Found just before the rain really came down. That's a good spot for a cache - never going to get muggled here. TFTC W&W

It was grey and overcast as we started our walk to this cache. Accurate coordinates led to another quick find of a well hidden cache. We're sure the family cachers will enjoy this well stocked cache.

Thanks for another enjoyable cache WazzaAndWenches. The view from the hide was really nice and we were well hidden from the few muggles doing the tourist thing.

The middle of a hot day, not many about.
Distracted anyone by discussion of Pokemon with geonephew while geohusband went in for the cache.
