Description
Tree of the Dead
Tree of the Dead is an easy Terrain 1.5 geocache hidden for the Summer Scavenger Series.
You do not need to cross the fence line to find this geocache, that tree is not yet a member of the deceased. You need to look for another tree of the dead to find this geocache.
Come along and find this one and do the rest of the Western Freeway Path while you're here.

Love these nice sized hides.

The cooler weather this weekend made today perfect for a bike ride. With a stiff southerly blowing, I decided that I'd tackle the lower reaches of the Kororoit Creek with the wind at my tail, rather than the tougher option... then enjoy a non-stop jaunt alongside the Ring Road and Western Freeway to where I left off last week.
It was certainly quite different this time around: express rather than stopping all stations (caches), then, once I'd made it to the vicinity of the prison, a cool, and occasionally damp evening compared to the balmy weather of late.
By the time I reached the middle of Caroline Springs, there were nearly a dozen and a half more smileys, with only a few I couldn't locate, and finds on some caches that had been dormant for a year and a half. Oh, and both my phone and GPSr were running on fumes when I finally got on a train. All in all, a good evening expedition.
Thanks, GabGab.

#GA1850 - 09:40; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week is to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. This was one of 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, where we only had the one DNF! Apologies for the mostly generic logs. TFTC GabGab

Off and running along the path and it was simply a matter of riding, stopping, finding the cache, signing the log, replacing the cache and then moving on to the next one. No problems here and we were soon on our way again.
Thanks for another one GabGab....

We spent the morning walking the bike/walking paths along side the Western Highway. We enjoyed the variety of hides, the accuracy of the coordinates and the size of the containers. Most caches were quick finds and the caches and their contents were in good condition. Thanks GabGab for this cache and the many placed in the area.
An easy enough find once I ignored the obvious but not yet dead trees. A little exposed so replaced with a little more coverage although it would be unlikely to be spotted. Thanks for this geocache along here tonight. Thanks GabGab. P.S. love the size. Better than a string of micros.
