Description

CCC15 - A New Key

One again, the tall towers in this area thwarted my attempt to get some great co-ordinates and my 2 GPS units would simply not agree. A bit of averaging between the two, a bit of map and bit of sense and I ended up with these co-ordinates. While the geocache is placed logically, the co-ordinates may have you looking at a few more random places first, but read the geocache name and you should end up right on top of it. You seek a 200ml sistema container painted grey to match its surroundings. Not suitable for a wheelchair as the area in completely inaccessible in that manner. You do not need to do any plant damage at this location. This location is not kid friendly unless you want them for the retrieve in which case, let them go for it. Watch the streets only a few metres away in most directions.

A rare day of caching and this was the first of hopefully many. Not too many places to hide a cache made for a quick easy find. Thanks c@w.

This was a quick addition to the nights caching and with people coming from all angles I kept look out while the goose was sent in to grab the cache, it was soon signed and replaced as found

Thanks for the cache C@W

We were going to drive past but it was right there and parking was easy at this ungodly hour so we stopped. SSR sent me in to GZ like an advance party and once I had a bit of lihgt on the subject I found it. Thanks caughtatwork

Today we needed 15 caches for the Idus Marti Trophy and this was 1 we found. Enjoyed the walk around the Docklands area - some places we have not been before so thanks for showing us a different part of Melbourne. Lots of building works around here but Mr T ducked in and made the find. Cache and contents in good condition.

Many thanks Caughtatwork for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience.

Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a Very Happy We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.

#GA1925 - 16:15; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week was to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. After 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, we collected number 83 on the way out and had now reached Docklands where we continued the mission, which picked up where I had left off a couple of weeks ago and where Sdl left off in January. Sdl slipped in to collect this aptly named cache during a break in the muggle traffic. Apologies again for the mostly generic logs. TFTC caughtatwork Very HappyClan Cerberus

A neat play on words that was obvious once we arrived at GZ. As for GZ, with a break in the muggles walking past, I jumped into the GZ area and soon had the cache in hand. Log was quickly signed and then it was back on the bikes and off the next one.

Thanks [email protected] played.

Planning for this trip began in June - we knew we would be heading to Adelaide but which way would we go? This depended on our targets. We looked at our list of unclaimed Dragon Zone trophies and picked out several that we could feasibly collect the required number of finds to qualify for the trophy. We then had to identify caches that would meet our targets and from here it was time to plan a route that would take us past the caches we had identified. Any caches too far off our route were discarded and replaced by suitable alternatives.

All was running smoothly until the Christmas in July game was announced. We would be travelling in the latter part of the game. It was difficult to include this in our target caches as we did not know what was required. Once the game began and we understood what we needed to do we could then add other caches to the target list.

We were just getting our heads, yes all four of them, around this when more Dragon Zone trophies were added. Which ones could we meet and which should we ignore? Do we need to add more GA caches and/or do we need to change our route and our targets? We decided on our target list and then our route and timeline. We had just drawn a line under everything and were about to begin printing our caching booklets, route maps and target lists when caught@work published 23 new caches on the Western Ring Path. Earlier we had decided on the caches in the Edgewater Walk series. If we added the new ones on the Western Ring Path and as many of the CCC series as possible, we could probably reach the required number of caches to qualify for the Dragon Zone trophies “Restraining Order Stalker” (Find 100 DZ caches hidden by the same cacher) and “Obsession!=Insanity” (find 50 DZ caches in a day). As the latter would give us our first Blaze Trophy, it was decided to alter everything to include the CCC series.

We usually head out of the Melbourne CBD as soon as we disembark from The Spirit of Tasmania as we do not enjoy city caching. If we were going to tackle the CCC series we would have to start in Docklands, then move to Edgewater walk and the Western Ring Path. Caches in these series also carry nice points for the Christmas in July game. New lists drawn up, alterations made to the route and maps. New line drawn and printing and collating begun. No major changes now (unless something significant gets published just before we leave – we cannot be too inflexible when caching is involved).

It has been some time since we have cached in the Docklands area and our first impression was the large areas of development which have taken place. This development seemed to have impacted on satellite signals as both our GPS units were quite erratic and, in general, took quite some time to settle. The detailed hints were very much appreciated as it enabled us to start searching without waiting for the GPS to settle and so made searching more efficient.

The rain was a help at this location as there wasn't a muggle within 30m of GZ. The precise hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks caught@work for this cache and all the caches you have placed around Docklands. And yes we are practising for our dissertation.

With the kids off catching up with their cousins and amping up on Easter eggs, I felt the need for a bit of exercise.

And a fine evening's caching it turned out to be, with a good number of finds, the only DNF being an obvious muggling, and plenty of pretty lights. Thanks for the hides, C@W.

The toys really do play up here, eh... found with the aid of the excellent hint.

Found while travelling about with Tronador and now ahomburg as part of caughtatwork's cache chase. A trail blaze of glory for this one.

Our first ever cache with GCA and in an event too.

Together with The Morris and Tronador, we approached and waited for a group of strange looking emo types to pass by. Chad soon had the cache in hand once they had gone.

As we approached this a horde of muggles tried to distract us, but Mr Morris just made a blazing trail straight to GZ to make an easy find. Well done.
