Description

Do you know your states and territories?

Write down the 8 Australian States and Territories in population order starting at the highest, labelling from A to H – Hint , NSW will be A.

Next to each State/Territory, write its capital city.  Then think of a number between 1 and 50.  Memorise it, we will come back to it later.  Using A=1, B=2 etc, convert each capital city into a single digit eg if Quangers was a capital city , sum of character  values is 102, converted to a single digit = 3

GZ is at S35 F(A+C).D(G-E)G  E149 (H-B)H.(G-C-F)CG

You may now forget the earlier remembered number.

I wasn't overly confident of finding this cache as it is so long since it was found. I managed to park relatively close and then made my way to GZ. My first impression was that it had gone as there was a mark where a cache could have been previously. Luckily I took a closer look and the cache was revealed. Unfortunately the log has completely disintegrated but I managed to leave a piece of paper which I signed. TFTC Agent Basil. ClappingClappingClappingClan CerberusClan Cerberus

I had no problems working this cache out and then I took a short, pleasant walk to find this and two other GA caches in this area. Cache and log are good. TFTC Agent Basil.

This was one I'd solved quite some time ago and even (almost) had an attempt on a previous trip to Capital City until a major rainstorm back then put me off a tad. Shocked Today was very pleasant though so I mosied on down to GZ where I soon had the stash in hand at 18:15 to open its account for 2018. Dancing

TNLNSL. Thanks Agent Basil.

Out today for a stroll and grab some AB caches in the area. This was on the list and found without any dramas.
Nice to be back in the area.
Thanks AB for the cache and the fun puzzle.

After meeting the CO some time ago, I worked out a solution. Today we were looking for a nice short walk and so we set off. An amble up and along and up again saw us at the site. Cache found. Thanks Agent Basil a nice puzzle and final location.

Found on a very early morning GCA run before going to the movies on a hot summer day. This was a puzzle that I thouroughly enjoyed - it was relatively simple, yet so much fun and so interactive! We need more of these easy yet fun ones! After slowly climbing the hill in the morning heat, we arrived at GZ for a very quick find - though I got kind of sad while signing the log, because this was right near the spot where I fractured and chipped three of my teeth more than a year ago at school while mountain biking. I always wanted to hide a GCA cache here about it, but you've beaten me to it! Great views from up here! TNLNSL. TFTC AB! Clan Cerberus

#GA1229 - 14:45; After collecting a couple of the CO's other caches in the area, thought I'd better go a little further around the hill and collect a couple more. Found a very convenient park Wink and then set off up the hill. Again! Identified a likely looking hide on the approach and while I did my usual trick of starting the search headed in the wrong direction, a quick reversal soon had me right on GZ and with cache in hand. This was fun....had the obligatory error when I had H = 4 for some silly reason (always knew there was something funny about Hobart*) but once I sorted that, everything fell into place nicely. A different sort of puzzle, actually fun to calculate......and a neat posted co-ords area...not that you should hide a cache there of course.

Managed to park in the perfect spot and took the walk to GZ. Arrive to find the cache without issue and managed to have my name first in the log book. Strange in the ACT that the cache has been out for while without any finders....but that's now fixed.

Thanks Basil....another fun little puzzle that was a little different. *FTF*

(*Hobart is actually a great place visit.....)
