Description

The cache is NOT at the listed co-ordinates.

I thought I might head off on a trip this year to visit some of Australia. Now I'm a bit of a "make a list" sort of person so that's what I've done! I have a list of things to take and I have a list of 100 top places to visit taken from the 2016 Guide.

My packing list includes

jeans, shirts, warm jacket, underwear, pyjamas, shoes & socks

toiletries, insect repellant, sunscreen

sun hat, sunglasses, raincoat & umbrella

Kobo e-reader, my "ausgolf" clubs, camera, gps

My holiday activities will start off with

Sanctury Lakes

Discovering religion at Little Bay

Building a sand castle in the dunes at Rye

Going for a walk in the pine forest at Sanctuary Cove

Dawesville  (although I might need to cut this out if I run out of time)

Meet up with Tom & Michael Bougle for coffee at Bridport

Paddling on the lake at Merrimac

 Visiting Hamilton Island

Of course I'll have my gps with me for the odd cache and you might be able to work out the co-ordiates of my first target cache if you can put the information from my 2 lists together into something meaningful!

Found this today while out exploring the area with the geokiddies. Love high difficulty, easy terrain caches and this one did not disappoint. Had my eyes on this one for the States of the Nation points.
A tricky solve which took much research before finally making the connections and working out the solving technique. From there a plausible set of coords revealed themselves and the checker gave me the nod. Today it was an easy find, coords spot on. Must say the cache contains some great swag, very generous. This is the first swag size GCA cache I have found and it has set the bar high. I only signed the log today as my swag is a bit meager at the moment. Returned the cache as found.
Thanks for the great cache Blossom* enjoyed the solve and the find made for a great morning out today.

Wow, this certainly caused some head scratching. How does blossom* think? I'd often looked at this puzzle during the Christmas in July game and each time closed the page. I never did understand what had to be done. And there it sat unfound for some 9 months. Now with the the States of the Nation game this summer I opened the page yet again and scratched my head again. There it goes once more, closed the page.....until I happened to mention that this was giving me endless problems. Had it not been for Baktrak's response and a slight push in the back... that I did a little research and came up with something promising almost immediately. I had a lead that would have to wait until Christmas was over. So late last night, I opened the page yet again and worked on my lead. Hmmm this does not look right but by some miracle, I used the same clue but a slightly different tact and there was the info I was looking for. I knew I was right after visiting my very first destination. In hind site, the cryptic clues are quite clever...... well in hind site most are..... Brick WallBrick Wall
The geochecker gave me the thumbs up first go and this morning seemed a great time to go find this long forgotten cache and give NSW a bit of a boost. I arrived and did not expect it to be in that location. I started walking away before I realised the GPS was pointing behind me.... oh no, what? GZ gave me the heebie jeebies, a little too close for my liking. None the less, I did find a nicely camoed and concealed cache, considering its location. Some great swag in there. Thanks for a well thought out cache.

Glad to see that sunscreen is on the list. It took a while for the penny to drop and even longer to get the numbers right. Never forget that zero is a useful number!
At GZ, I thought the cupboard was bare but it turned out that the cache was extremely well hidden and in excellent condition. What a surprise be 2TF after all this time too.
Thanks Blossom*

I've been looking at this puzzle for quite some time noticing that it still hadn't been found. With my options exhausted, I gave in and contacted the CO last night (or was that early this morning). Either way, I received a very welcoming response not long after breakfast and by that stage, something that had changed had been corrected. So back to some more number crunching and I was still mightily bamboozled. After another quick exchange with the CO, it turns out that I was on the right path but always had the wrong "right thing".

With the checker giving me a big "Congratulations", I made plans to collect my prize. Parked and realised that I had actually been quite close to here recently. Didn't take too long to discover the container even with the iPhone's best attempts to have me running in circles. Took it back to the car for signing duties and only then did I realise there was a massive huntsman that had come along for the ride. Calmly relocated it to a nearby tree and happily signed a blank (but very nicely decorated) log book. Plenty of swag waiting for some younger finders too. Wow - FTF and unloved days all at the same time. Now that doesn't happen very often!

TFTC blossom* - hope you enjoyed your travels even though it's now spring

After almost a year, a few things have changed so I've updated the descriptions to (hopefully) make things more current and maybe a bit easier Smile
