Description

Behind the factories Western Freeway Path

Continuing the series of geocaches along the Western Freeway Path, this series is on the opposite side of the freeway to the rest, but do not despair there are ways across the freeway so you can continue your walk or bike ride. This is a location set behind the many factories that dot this side of the freeway. It's a nice enough path with trees between the path and the freeway and the factories so most of the time you are looking down a green channel rather than the bold concrete and pavement of the freeway itself. You are looking for a 400ml sistema container hidden a little off the path towards the fence. I hope you enjoy the series of caches to entice you to the dark side.

Logs

Back on the trail again today, searching for caches on the Western Freeway Path and Western Ring Path.

Our last day of caching the trails, with a target of 35 caches. We managed a total of 21 finds and 14 DNF'S.

Log book was sodden but we managed to leave our name in it.

Many thanks caughtatwork for all the caches you have placed, we appreciate the time and effort gone into placing them.

I decided to continue exploring the western bike trails... this time the Western Freeway was my target, so I caught the train to Sunshine to ride the last section of the Kororoit Creek before continuing westward.

A fine evening, and a mostly successful hunt (apart from a couple of fruitless scrambles in the bushes), and edging closer to the 10% target I want to maintain.

Thanks, C@W.

#GA1867 - 10:56; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week is to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. This was one of 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, where we only had the one DNF! We were now headed east on stage two of the run. Apologies for the mostly generic logs. Back at the next section of series and again it was just a matter of following the GPSr, dropping the bike and grabbing the cache. In most cases it was that simple and we just plodded along cache after cache. I think we were starting to slow as the wind picked up...nothing kills a ride like riding into the wind.

All was good though and unless stated, all caches were found in good condition.

Thanks for this one C@W.....

This section of the factory row was quiet this morning. The band of trees certainly provide a barrier to the traffic sound from the nearby freeway.

At GZ we were able to make another quick find of ànother well hidden cache.

Thanks for this cache caught@work.
