The Island of Sodor is the setting for the childrens TV series Thomas and Friends. This park was up until 2016 the home of the Little Steamers, a group of locals who build and operate model trains and used to run the trains one Sunday a month for the kids and the young at heart to have a ride.

We've seen this cache on previous visits to Toowoomba, even had it solved in case, but didn't get close enough to look for it. Today we had more reason to seek it out... it's the start of the Blitz game. The GPS had me going around in circles, eventually taking me back to where I thought it would be in the first place. Didn't stay long as being dusk the mozzies were getting active (and so were the bats). TFTC MalDawg.

Had this one solved before this caching trip to the 'big island'. Remember having trouble with one answer but the rest were pretty straight forward.
Left Mr Beetle with the van at the car park where he was amused by the learner riders who had taken over 2 levels of the car park. At least it gave him something to watch while I went to look for this one.
At GZ, which was muggle free, it didn't take long to find this container although I did end up with muddy thongs and hands.
Startled the bats which screeched and flew around and carried on and a couple of large hares also made an appearance.
Thanks.

Day 33 Mainland trip
Leaving Tenterfield this morning we have now arrived in Toowoomba and headed out with Tassie Trekkers to find a few caches and this one we had solved prior to our visit, so good to turn it into a smiley. Gee I am glad we dont have hordes of bats like this in Tassie. TFTP

#GA3575 - 10:04; Day 4 of a long planned mission to South East Queensland with Sol de lune and after a couple of days in and around Nanango and the wider South Burnett area, it was time to head back towards Brisbane, then home later on Tuesday. After grabbing the CORS on the way into town, followed by a couple of virtuals and the recently minted ICEM, we made our way through to this one. I was solo here as Sdl had found it on a previous visit. Arrived at GZ which was really wet under foot following recent inclement weather, to start the search. The going was tough and I suspect that I would have given up without encouragement from Sdl. Managed to make the find and despite the exterior appearance, the interior of the cache and the contents were all in good order. Log signed, cache replaced and it was off to the nearby facilities for a bit of a clean up! TFTC MalDawg

An early morning grab before breakfast and before we started our final day on the road to Bundaberg. Car park was almost empty so no problem heading down the hill towards GZ. Took a couple of minutes to spy the cache but all turned out ok. Plenty of bats and a couple bunnies as well, however no other humans to see what I was doing and my name was soon in the log book.
Thanks Maldawg.....another dragonZone crossed off the list.

Lots of bats in the trees but they're not very noisy today.
Spot-on coords here. The cache was nicely tucked away. Even though it is starting to rain the contents are nice and dry.
Thanks for the puzzle and placing this cache MalDawg.

Decided that an early morning walk was in order so headed for gz for this puzzle cache. After a short hunt we found the cache container tucked away. It was wet but the contents were safe and dry.
Thanks for the cache and the puzzle MalDawg. We hope it wont be long before more cachers visit this cache.

(FTF) Early in Toowoomba and there are a lot of walkers around but none ner GZ. The bats are very noisy and their little presents are everywhere so be careful not to touch. Have good bacterial wipes with me as I thought the bats would be here. Quick find in the obvious spot, to me anyway, and all is good. Did not take long to get a good set of numbers for the co ordinates.
