An evening walk was craved for after a days work, but I had left it till quite late, so a short hike not to far away... I remembered that I had a couples cache left here at the west side of black mountain, which is allways a nice walk at sunset.

I had to leave this cache out when I did the rest of the GCA lot of caches here the other day, so grabed it today at the end of may walk on the way back out, getting dark and I am pretty sure some naughty people walked their dog past GZ when I was signing the log.

Out with Joolay again today - the last day of her holidays and we were determined to make the most of the day. Goal? 20 more GCA caches to add more points to the current game. We succeeded in our goal and this was #2 Clapping . TFTC SDL SL

Had worked out these puzzles ages ago but today was the day to pick them up. So Smittengranny and I armed with corrected coords heard up the mountain. Lovely being up on the mountain when it was not so hot. Cache found in good condition.

Enjoyed the trivia. Found this and the other three '?' caches in the area on the way back from the summit. TFTC and puzzles Sol de Lune. Great hide for a rather large case. As others have already mention some water had made it into the cache but the log book was safe and dry.

I had returned to the car after doing some GC & GCA caches, and noticed there were some easy puzzles available, so spent the time while the snow-showers passed to work them out. I had just walked around the area, so went up there again to grab these!

Some water in the cases, but log books OK in their bags.

The tower seems cheap in today's money!

Thanks,

949. Another type of puzzle that I can do - research. Looks like I got all the ones around here right too as I didn't bother with any checkers that were present.

How daring is that?

A day out with McPhan walking most of the Black Mountain Reserve, from north to south and west to east and back to the car - great training! Thanks Sol de Lune for the hide, and thanks to McPhan for doing all the puzzle solving. By the way, I misplaced my black gps case somewhere during the day and in spite of coming back looking for it I've not located it. If anyone finds it, I'd be pleased to get it back thanks.

An easy find. TFTC Very Happy

I went for a short but fun walk around the western slopes of Black mountain to collect six GA caches. They all went smoothly and I made it back to the car in one piece.

Thanks

GCA 1269 - 14294. Found during a mini-GCA run around Canberra.

With the last game vastly adding to the number of GCA Caches in Canberra I thought I'd better start to make a dent in them. First find for the day. A nice simple puzzle and a lovely walk in on a Mountain I enjoy visiting. Quick find at GZ. Signd the log, returned the cache, and headed off to the next one.

TFTC !!

A nice warm wander around the foothills of Black Mountain and the cache concentration made it too hard to resist, despite the heat.
A neat puzzle and an easy find of, now, a very familiar type container.

#GA1235 - 19:30; Having received a heads up about a possible total fire ban for tomorrow and the potential for closure of this reserve, I decided to make a late afternoon assault on the mountain, having recently solved several puzzles for caches lurking there. This was my first stop and I managed to spot the likely hide on the approach. Log signed, cache replaced, I was off further up the hill. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

Found on a very early morning GCA run before going to the movies on a hot summer day. Again, this was another cache where I learned a lot about an iconic feature of my city - very good! After a short walk, the cache was quickly found. TNLNSL. TFTC SdL! Clan Cerberus

After obtaining a set of co-ords it was off for the hunt. Another quick find at GZ while dodging the webs along the way.

Thanks for the cache Sol de lune

Yesterday, the GCA website and GSAK conspired to not load this to my GPS when I was FTFing the other nearby. Soon fixed this morning before the heat

I finally had time to work on a few puzzles today and got out late this afternoon to grab a couple on the back of Black Mountain. This was the first for the afternoon. Cache found in good condition - just missed the FTF. Thanks again Sol for the puzzle and the cache Smile

Went for a warm wander on the "lower west side" of Black Mountain this afternoon. Friday after works is my all time favourite time to go caching. Parked at the suggested turn off and made my way over to GZ watching out for wriggly sticks and finding none, but being caught by a gazillion invisible spider webs! I didn't see any other marks in the log, maybe that's a FTF!
Thanks for the fun puzzle, loved going LARGE.
Cheers
