Doing almost daily caching outings during this covid high time in April. Very good to get out for some exercise into nature. Today an assault on some caches on the lower parts of Black Mountain. Found all but one of them, good to clean these out after I have had them sitting there solved and starring at me for a while now. Thanks for the little series SDL.

Great to see this area of the mountain I have never been to.

Out with Joolay again today - the last day of her holidays and we were determined to make the most of the day. Goal? 20 more GCA caches to add more points to the current game. We succeeded in our goal and this was #3. Solved at home last night - do love a puzzle I can actually solve. ClappingDancing TFTC SDL SL

Out with Smittengranny getting caches but have already logged this one. Log book is saturated and needs replacing.

Well, I accidentally found this cache!
I only occasionally do GA caches, mainly trig points when I come across them or moveables.
But I was descending from Black Mountain after grabbing a cache, and walked straight past this.
I was watching my feet and saw something in the corner of my eye poking out of the rocks and bark.
Wow a huge container, no wonder!

The logbook is still surviving, I emptied the water out too.

Thanks Sol de lune!

TFTC and puzzles Sol de Lune. Found this and the other three '?' caches in the area on the way back from the summit. Another great hide for a rather large case. As others have already mention some water had made it into this cache as well but the log book was ok.

I had returned to the car after doing some GC & GCA caches, and noticed there were some easy puzzles available, so spent the time while the snow-showers passed to work them out. I had just walked around the area, so went up there again to grab these!

Some water in the cases, but log books OK in their bags.

I must admit, I had to look up C.

Thanks,

Needed a cache not found for 150 days and also attempting to use Geocube for the first time. Well success on both parts. lovely day for a walk. Oh and there were several cache guardians as well as quite a bit of water inside. The log book was dry so I just tipped out the water and put it back. Cool TFTC

954. A very nice spot for GZ and the chance for a cuppa and snack with winglen. So many GCA caches blossomed while I wasn't looking so revisiting spots is on the cards. Many times I've said that anywhere with elevation in Canberra and you get good views was proved again today.

TFTC Sol and all of them around here.

A day out with McPhan walking most of the Black Mountain Reserve, from north to south and west to east and back to the car - great training! Thanks Sol de Lune for the hide, and thanks to McPhan for doing all the puzzle solving. By the way, I misplaced my black gps case somewhere during the day and in spite of coming back looking for it I've not located it. If anyone finds it, I'd be pleased to get it back thanks.

Good exercise to climb up to this one. My tip is to follow the paths. The direct line hits a deep gully or two. There were also other caches along the path to collect. TFTC Very Happy

I went for a short but fun walk around the western slopes of Black mountain to collect six GA caches. They all went smoothly and I made it back to the car in one piece.

Thanks

GCA 1270 - 14295. Found during a mini-GCA run around Canberra.

With the last game vastly adding to the number of GCA Caches in Canberra I thought I'd better start to make a dent in them. Next find for the day. A nice simple puzzle and a lovely walk in on a Mountain I enjoy visiting. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache, and headed off to the next one.

TFTC !!

A nice warm wander around the foothills of Black Mountain and the cache concentration made it too hard to resist, despite the heat.
Another neat puzzle and an easy find of another, now, very familiar type container.

#GA1236 - 19:40; Having received a heads up about a possible total fire ban for tomorrow and the potential for closure of this reserve, I decided to make a late afternoon assault on the mountain, having recently solved several puzzles for caches lurking there. After a relatively easy first stop, I took the shorter, direct, but probably not the quickest and easiest, route over to this cache. Crossed the deep gully and then made it to GZ for another quick find and sign. In traditional fashion, it was further up the hill again to the next one. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

On a run through red hill to collect these caches. Very hot and very happy to not have found any snakes today.

Found on a very early morning GCA run before going to the movies on a hot summer day. Another very interesting and informing puzzle found today. After walking up the hill in the heat, the cache was quickly found - except we had to wait until some muggles past before we signed the log! TNLNSL. TFTC SdL! Clan Cerberus

Another quick find at GZ while dodging the webs along the way.

Thanks for another cache Sol de lune

After obtaining a set of co-ords it was off for the hunt. Another quick find at GZ while dodging the webs along the way.

Thanks for another cache Sol de lune

Another nice big cache hidden out in the nature reserves. It was good to leave the walk until it was cooler late this arvo. Cache found in good condition. Thanks again SDL Smile

Worked out the puzzle during the morning and then went for a warm wander on the "lower west side" of Black Mountain this afternoon. Friday after works is my all time favourite time to go caching. Parked at the suggested turn off and made my way over to GZ watching out for muggles and cachers and finding none. I did find lots of velcro, so deployed the waving stick action to reduce the impact. Found the bold hide after a bit of huffing and puffing.
Thanks Sol De Lune, lots of fun find the large ones.
Cheers
