Description
There are so many different shapes and styles of chimney pots. How many can we record?
A chimney pot is placed on top of the chimney to expand the length of the chimney inexpensively, and to improve the chimney's draft. A chimney with more than one pot on it indicates that there is more than one fireplace sharing the chimney.
Chimneys are not likely to be found in new houses these days although it is still quite easy to buy chimney pots, maybe they are mostly used to restore older houses. This one is atop one of the older houses in Australia, in Wilberforce
To log this cache it's pretty simple, a photo of a chimney pot on top of it's chimney, and the co-ordinates are required please.

Out walking in the wind and spotted these two chimney pots on an old house that has been renovated but kept the chimney.

My (unused) chimney doesn't have any pots - though it did prove useful when I wanted somewhere to mount TV antennas. But I didn't have to go too far to find a double chimney pot - it's next door. Looks like they might need to clean the gutters though There is also another set up at Hornsby that has 3 pots and is part of a mystery. Thanks blossom*
We saw this most unusual chimney pot arrangement in St Arnaud whilst searching for a GC traditional cache nearby. With four pots connected together it would have been interesting to see inside the building to find out how the chimneys were configured.

There are pots on two of the chimneys on this house, which is one of the oldest in Shepparton, in the beautiful Corio Street.
In Shepparton many of the original homes, that used to grace the street, have now been demolished, to make way for more urban type of housing.
With modern houses of course there are no chimneys and consequently finding chimney pots around here is pretty rare.
Thank you for the cache. I needed one beginning with C to spell my name, for another Locationless cache.

Chimney pots and more chimney pots - they have so many over here in England. I don't know if I can log this geocache twice but I will change it to a note if necessary. This is a much more impressive entry than my last one for this locationless - it is not unusual to see 10 chimney pots together on one roof! Obviously gets cold here!
Took a while to find one of these, but eventually spotted one today. I see a lot of home owners have changed over to the metal looking ones.
Good with this one.....thanks Blossom*

This is an easy one in Launceston there are so many chimney pots to choose from. Wood smoke had been an issue in the Tamar Valley in wintertime and the government have tried various means to convert residents to use hydro heat instead of wood fires.
We drove through Ipswich, Qld, today and saw these lovely chimney pots on one of the older style homes here.
Can't say we see many of them up here.
Thanks Blossom*

On our way home from the Red Centre experience, we stopped in Gilgandra for a lunch break and some geocaching. The chimney pots are on top of the Gilgandra Post Office. Warren Rd, NSW.

Gollam Court is an older double story house in Ulverstone with chimney pots, one of the very few in the town. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Thanks blossom* for the cache.
I was out and about in Carlton, Victoria today.
While down in Drummond Street I spotted these pots on a nearby terrace.
There was many more on a few other properties around here.

Gleniffer Brae Manor House, Conservatorium of Music, Wollongong, NSW
Elegant chimney pots atop unusually shaped bricks give these chimneys & their pots their unique appearance. The Manor House and its surrounding lawns have a rich history. Known as Gleniffer Brae, the Tudor style Manor was built in 1938 upon its stately hill for the Hoskins family who were one of the original owners of the Australian Iron and Steel company. Thank you.
