Description

The Western Ring Path is the continuation of the Western Freeway Path along the Western Ring Road and provide more opportunity for some walking or cycling along a nicely made asphalt path way.

Access to this section of the path can be made from Federation Way where there is is on street residential parking or via Fitzgerald Rd although there is no close parking at this access point.

Take your bike or take a walk along the path and look for some geocaches. The wall dominates your veiew as you walk or cycle along this path but without it the noise inside the homes on the opposite side of the path would be unbearable and as it is, I'm not certain how the locals sleep at night. A small 400ml sistema container has been hidden along the wall so you can get right up close to it, listen for the noise and feel the vibrations from the traffic as it passes by on the other side of it. The only location along the wall that you could hide the cache is where you will find the cache hidden  but there is a hint which will pinpoint it for your exactly.

Back on the trail again today, searching for caches on the Western Freeway Path and Western Ring Path.

Our last day of caching the trails, with a target of 35 caches. We managed a total of 21 finds and 14 DNF'S.

Cache and contents are in good contition.

Many thanks caughtatwork for all the caches you have placed, we appreciate the time and effort gone into placing them.

Nice little ride up the path here I was soon digging round.

At first I thought it had been muggled.

Soon realised a year of leaf litter had the cache safe.

Still tucked away neatly.

------

Well.

This wasn't the day I'd planned, but family matters had turned the weekend on its head. Between sleeping in after the fun of caching in the dark until so late it was almost early, and staying at home to referee while the better half ran some errands, it wasn't until mid afternoon that I rolled out the gate.

Finally logging my first cache for the day after crossing the Whitten Bridge, I continued anticlockwise around the Ring Road, bagging 42 finds, and a handful of DNFs.

Thanks, C@W... today's haul has gone a long way toward my ambition of getting my GA logs over 10% of the GC total.

#GA1901 - 13:41; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week is to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. This was one of 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, where we only had the one DNF! We had now finished the 'ring path' to the north and after some lunch now headed east again on the home stretch. Apologies for the mostly generic logs. TFTC caughtatwork Very HappyClan Cerberus

After grabbing lunch nearby, it was time for LuckyL10n and I to start the last leg of these caches. A bit of shelter as we headed along this path so the riding was a little easier without the wind in our faces.

All was good with the caches and all were found in good condition.

Thanks for the continuing series C@W.....

This morning my auntie 'cathlud' came to watch me play hockey and then we did some geocaching on our way home.
My auntie let me use her GPS and I followed the arrow until I found the cache.
Thank you for placing this cache.

After picking my niece (PrincessFiona) up from Yarraville we were ready for a few hours of geocaching along the Western Ring Rd Path, on our way home.
For the last section of our walk we moved our car to Federation Way and planned to do six more caches (towards Fitzgerald Rd) before heading home.
The princess's legs are getting weary but she is eager to continue as the caches are a good size for her to find.
Thank you caughtatwork for this series. Very Happy

What else do you do while waiting to board the ferry home? Park at a service centre and walk 10 kms getting 21 GCA caches, 13 of which were FTF. We had a lovely walk either side of the Big M. Thanks caughtatwork for placing,(now we get triple dragon zone points), for the great cache containers, good clues and spot on coords. Clan Minotaur TFTC

After taking a late morning tea break, we continued our walk along sections of the Western Freeway Bike Path. Although all the caches in this section had been placed in mid February, they had not been found. It was quite interesting how, with the help of leaf litter, they had blended into their environments with some having appreciable layers of natural camo. In each instance, accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The caches and their contents were in good condition. As there were no entries in the logbook, we will claim FTF at 12:50. Thanks caughtatwork for the cache and others in the area.
