Description
A short walk from the Car Park for a 'fun' find !
Black Mountain is a wonderful place to go walking, riding, and of course Geocaching !! I had to cross this gully a couple of times while doing some nearby caches, so I decided to place a cache here to highlight it.
The cache itself is on the edge of the steep gully so please be careful especially if the Geokids are with you.

Out for a drive to enjoy the sunshine with Just a cacher. A quick find here today and the cache is all good.
Thanks for the cache fitzy_1965.

Doing almost daily caching outings during this covid high time in April. Very good to get out for some exercise into nature. Today an assault on some caches on the lower parts of Black Mountain. Found all but one of them, good to clean these out after I have had them sitting there solved and starring at me for a while now. Thanks for the little series Fitzy.
Out with Joolay again today - the last day of her holidays and we were determined to make the most of the day. Goal? 20 more GCA caches to add more points to the current game. We succeeded in our goal and this was #6 and the car was in sight once again. TFTC Fitzy_1965 SL

Smittengranny and I, out and about getting caches for the summer game and decide to head up the mountain. Lovely being up on the mountain when it was not so hot. Cache found in good condition.

I have explored this area before but have never seen the gully from this angle. It would be impressive after a lot of rain to see the creek running here. Cache in good condition. TFTC

Wow how many times have I been here and not realised there was such a speccy gully so close? That's what I get for staying on the paths.... thank goodness for geocaching!! Easy find, all is well with the cache. TFTC
After accidentally stumbling across a nearby GA cache I decided to check the map to see which one it was.
Turns out it was a puzzle, all good, but then noticed a few trads I had to walk straight past to get to my car anyway! May as well grab them too!
Thanks Fitzy, a quick find here in the suggested spot

Picked this one up on the way back to the car after a bit of a hike up the mountain. It's a top spot. Thanks again FITZY_1965!

Lots of big gullies around here! Missed the cache on the first pass as it was well buried in the bark & leaves.
Thanks,

We found the cache slipped downhill, in full sight at the bottom of the gully. Placed back near the tree on the edge. TFTC fitzy_1965.

951. A bit more adventurous than most of the other caches around here and it looks like at some point a cacher is going to end up down the bottom. It'll be a slide worth watching I'd reckon.

A day out with McPhan walking most of the Black Mountain Reserve, from north to south and west to east and back to the car - great training! Thanks Fitzy for the hide which was a slightly tricky retrieve - for McPhan at least, much easier for me as observer! And thanks to McPhan for your good company and conversation over the day. By the way, I misplaced my black gps case somewhere during the day and in spite of coming back looking for it I've not located it. If anyone finds it, I'd be pleased to get it back thanks.
Challenging getting down in the gully but unable to locate it. Searched around nearby trees but no luck.
After abandoning a mission to the Pinnacle due to ACTEW muggles, I noticed the cluster in this area and got all but one in the immediate area. This one was a challenging retrieve and should be done carefully in good light to avoid a fall into the gully. TFTC

I went for a short but fun walk around the western slopes of Black mountain to collect six GA caches. They all went smoothly and I made it back to the car in one piece.
Thanks

Well, this was fun, I've dealt with this gully before.. and worried I had to get across, the activies of the last cacher to attempt this were well clear, so I followed in their footsteps (as it turned out, it was Danny) and found the cache easily enough. Thanks Fitzy!
#GA1376 - 11:30; I had collected another couple of caches in this area recently and stopped off again today to close another hole in the dZ calendar with this one. Made my way over to GZ and managed to find a reasonable way around to GZ. Plenty of loose debris, so had to be careful to keep my footing, but soon had the cache in hand and the log signed. Saw these new ones come out while away for the long weekend and fully expected they'd be found before I returned......but alas not. So Headed out today for a road trip around Black Mountain and had no problems making the finds.
This one was a little harder, as the terrain rating indicates, but with a bit of careful manoeuvring the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.
Good to see a few more GCA caches out about. Thanks for the cache, along with the *FTF* fitzy.
