Visit the Pinnacle Nature Reserve for some lovely walks, views, and quite a number of caches !
The Cache is not at the posted coordinates.
The Pinnacle Nature Reserve is a unit of the Canberra Nature Park (CNP). Totalling approximately 138 ha, the Reserve is located on Belconnen's southern boundary, adjacent to the suburbs of Weetangera and Hawker. The Reserve adjoins Springvale Drive and private residences to the north, and unleased and leasehold rural land on its southern and western boundaries. The Reserve is promulgated under the ACT's Territory Plan, and managed by ACT Parks and Conservation Service (PCS).
The "Pinnacle" refers to the highest point of the Reserve, which is 708 m above sea level.

At the posted coordinates you will find a sign giving you lots of information. Find the section on Park Care.

After binge watching the olympics for much of the day, it was great to get out for a walk in Pinnacle to stretch the legs. Not even the drizzle and icy winds could dampen our spirits today as we hunt for the last few battleships! Thanks for the cache.
Log I was in this area a couple of weeks ago and collected the info before I found the nearby gc. I solved when I reached home and was kicking myself that I'd not solved earlier. Back in the area again today for a daily so this was on the list. We searched for this one but came up empty. Replaced with permission of the CO. TFTC.
I was here the first time about a year ago to look for it, was a bit in a hurry so didn't give it that much time.
We came back today and the whole family searched but couldn't find it. There are not too many likely spots for a hanging cache but we did a good look around.

I parked nearest to this gate thinking that all the caches I was after today were all very close as it is another extreme heat day in ACT. Ha ha ha! Yes they are relatively close on the map but as the caches included two mystery and one multi, I found myself zig zagging back and forth across my own path all the time. Another good workout and I must admit a successful day cache wise now I just have to log them and see if I can magically find points in this year's summer game. It is the first time I have been involved in a game so rather keen to complete it. Thanks for this series of caches Fitzy - and all so close to home.

Neat puzzle quickly solved. Surprisingly, I found the cache easily....usually I can't see the cache right in front of my face.

Went for a walk in the reserve to grab this series. All found OK.
A bit of backtracking here, and cache blended very well into the surroundings, but spotted it after a little while.

#GA2171 - 15:00; After a bit of a caching mission around Belconnen, this one was the last stop. Parked in a familiar area and headed off to the posted coords where I managed to locate the required information and complete the calculations. Headed off to GZ and after a bit of a look around, spotted the cache just waiting to be found. Signed the log and finally completed this series. TFTC fitzy_1965

945. Somehow managed to forget to log this. Well that was because my GPSr only had solved puzzles in it so I had to use my phone to get to the site to see what was required. Even harder was trying to see the required information as some knobs had plastered paper over the Perspex at some stage.
Anyway a quick and close grab once the calcs were done.

Last one for this powertrail, grumbled a bit when I got to GZ, turned on the spot, and a familiar cache was looking back at me. TFTC Fitzy!
This morning I went out for a walk in the reserve and collected the set of these pinnacle gate caches.

Out this way again with this one as my main focus. Not found after 6 days....that's not normal for Canberra. Arrived and parked in a very familiar area and set. Arrived at the posted co-ords and set about gathering the info. Not long after a GZ was sorted and it was further along the track, before a short detour into the bush, where after a couple of minutes the neat little hide was spotted.
Open the container to find a blank log and was good. Log was signed and replaced it as found and it was off to grab just one more on this trip over this side of town.
With the event on over this way tomorrow, the other couple can wait.
