Description
Coppins Crossing is a low level bridge across the Molonglo River.
This area is the start of a number of nice caching trails, including the HMAS Series and the All the Rivers Run Challenge.
There are a number of interesting articles on the crossing lited here http://www.davesact.com/2011/11/coppins-crossing.html
I remember the bridge being heightened in the 70's from memory to its current level - you can still see the previous bridge as the new section was built on top of the old.
This cache is a simple drive-by.

I hate to think how often I have driven past this one without stopping. There was no pressure on me today so I pulled in and searched to no avail so left a temporary cache and log. TFTC Fitzy_1965 SL
This was a Fortunate To Find for me. I did not have it in my GPS but while waiting for a break in traffic to cross the road, I spotted it. When the traffic passed I retrieved the log, signed it, and returned the cache back to its spot. TFTC
BTW only good for northbound traffic or for walkers from the carpark at the crossing.

I had eyed this green dot on my map many a time passing by. One day I was neither in a rush, nor having anyone in the car, and I thought of stopping (going in the right direction) and found the cache
Thank you Fitzy

Went on a lunchtime drive with Fitzy today - grabbing a different cache each. Thought I'd get this one in case something happens to it in the upcoming construction.
The carpark across the river was busy today - I wonder why ?

#GA1761 - 11:30; Dropped by to collect this cache today to fill another hole in the dZ calendar. Approaching from the north, spotted a convenient park, so after continuing past, turned around and parked for a quick find right next to GZ. Nice views along the river here. TFTC fitzy_1965

Made it a bit more challenging by parking at the car park on the other side of the river. This meant walking along the concrete slipway just below the bridge. An easy find. Thanks
On the way home from work I was able to squeeze in a few caches. A nice simple drive by.
Thanks.

Headed out to check the water level after the rain.....and wow.....nowhere near the road, but still a bit of water flowing under the crossing. Cache was a quick find, but with the tyre marks in the 'mud' I thought the *FTF* had gone, but alas no, I was greeted with a blank log sheet....so all good.
Thanks fitzy_1965....neat spot to watch the water rising....
