Description

At the intersection [Edgewater Walk]

Edgewater was developed on the old Colonial Ammunition Factory site in Maribyrnong in 2001. A pleasant set of ponds has been created which allow boating and wildlife to abound (including snakes, so beware). This series of geocaches will take you on a walk around the ponds checking out the area and finding a few geocaches along the way.
Another planting, this time in the middle a three way fork in the road. That means muggles will approach from all directions of the compass so you will need to be vigilant. To make sure the location is not compromised. This geocache is a regular sized one so it shouldn't be too hard to spot, but as the area is somewhat exposed, please replace the coverings so the geocache does not become exposed.

We headed down to the big smoke to tackle some of the Parkville hides we had worked so hard to solve and help out with a maintenance run - not that many of them needed anything.
We jumped on the bikes and headed off on the trails - they sure made it easy to get around. We enjoyed collecting both types of caches along this stretch

Thanks for contributing to a terrific weekend Caughtatwork

I was on my way past and saw this one in the open. I replaced it in its spot with some cover.

Seemed too easy to find! But only if you were looking for it!

Wow, out in plain sight. Can't believe muggles haven't found this. Another decent sized container. I too tried to cover it a bit better with the sticks. Beautiful outlook on the river here.

This cache was exposed, so very easy to find. I signed the log, then returned it with more cover. Cheers!

We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and your cache - At the intersection [Edgewater Walk] - was one we found along the way. Enjoyed this series of caches - the redevelopment of this area is beautiful. We were lucky enough to talk to a council worker who opened up Jack’s Magazine and gave us a peek inside and a history lesson of the site. Added bonus to finding the cache.

Many thanks Caughtatwork for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience. As always accurate co - ordinates led to a quick find. Cache and contents in excellent condition.

Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a Very Happy We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.

This was the first while on our walk along here on such a glorious day. The group tried to split up here and that gave me a few extra moments for the find, which I effected at 10:40. Very Happy

#GA2045 - 13:15; In Melbourne with the geohoney for a few days to visit the geoteen, who had lectures today, so we headed off to Maribyrnong as it had two things going for it, retail therapy and caching! This was the next stop in this series on a very pleasant walk around the walking track and the Edgewater Walk. Lucky last in what was a really enjoyable series, particularly when I spotted the dolphins in the river Clapping A top series around a lovely park and nice to see plenty of locals making the most of it during my meander today. Bored out of my gourd at home, I decided a decent walk was in order. Thankfully, the weather agreed, so I figured this new series of hides was a good incentive.

And so it was, a neat variety of hides, with not too many worries about muggles, and a fine late afternoon caching experience.

Thanks, C@W, for keeping me at least moderately fit and sane.

When we retired , over ten years ago we had thought that we had said goodbye forever to writing treatises as part of earning our living. Little did we know what dragon Zone had in store for us - who can ignore a challenge even though it involves writing copious words. Fortunately neither of us appears to have lost the knack.

We do hope however that occasionally some innocent geocacher will read one of our missives and may even find something useful. We know that our work related treatises were never read, some questions may have been asked if they had been read. Our masters dutifully ticked off that the required documents had been handed in, accountability met so book closed.

Our latest treatises may be occasionally read and enjoyed by fellow caching tragics - or may be we are just kidding ourselves. We did however have fun reaching this goal. Of course, having reached this goal we feel duty bound to maintain our word average.

With our latest trip to the big island coming rapidly to an end we had a few loose ends to tie off - the ten caches making up the Edgewater Walk Series was one of these - apologies caught@work we really dont expect you to read them all.

We set off early this morning to find these. It was blowing a gale and walking into the wind was hard work. We could see that this would be a lovely area to walk on balmy evenings and cool summer mornings. Even with the unpleasant conditions there were plenty of dog walking muggles, running and riding muggles and a few power walking muggles using the tracks.

Accurate coordinates and excellent hints lead to quick finds of all the caches. These were well hidden but in your face as usual. All containers and contents were in excellent condition. We do love caught@work caches - rarely a micro or nano in sight.

Thanks caught@work for this cache and for this great little series. Another unnatural pile of sticks that almost had us fooled. We will partly blame the muggles appearing regularly and even wanting to stop beside the cache hide to answer their phones. It will be interesting to see this planting in several years time.

No one around here when we arrived and the GZ was soon spotted as we approached. Headed over to make the grab then back to the track to do the signing duties. Once that was completed the cache was quickly returned and and we continued down along the path towards the next one

Still enjoying the walk.....nice to do some caching together DancingDancing

Another check of the hint meant for a quick find although once at gz the hide was completely obvious. Quickly signed and replaced while there was a break in the muggle traffic. There's quite a few people out walking and riding this afternoon.
Thanks caughtatwork for the cache.
