Popped in to have a look for this one, had a good hunt, including using Moneydork's own hunting method which is usually guaranteed to turn up these sort of caches. Couldn't find it though. Logged a NM log from the backpackers, but time ran out before I could log the DNF as well. Cheers Gav
We were warned by the other logs, but decided to give it a go. Fortunately it doesn't look any longer like a toilett, we had our walking sticks, but no luck at all.
But we will be back to try our luck (maybe we should bring a scythe and clear the area)

Sorry this one beat me again today, One bonus I didnt end up being prickled as I used a walking stick. but still no luck. Unfortunatly this place is starting to look like the local toilet. A damn shame because it is a nice area to be in.. Cheers Bo

Not my day today poked and plodded for about 30 minutes in all likely places. I will be back!!
Had a look for this one twice .
But failed to find it hope its still there?
Been a lot of water through the stream near by may have got moved?.
Be back next year and will have another crack.
Good ski at porters through.

Hooray hoorah!!
It is still there. We found it quite quickly in a differnt area that we looked last time. Decidedthat we would do the ' 7 minute rule' as we were running really really late, and found it in about two minutes.
Hint - the hint doesn't really apply anymore!!
+Polar bear - finally he got to a cache where he might see snow!!

After the highlights of the quality caches at L Coleridge this was the lowlight of a caching week based at Rakaia Gorge.Endorse the previously expressed opinion that the cache be moved to a cleaner area.Faeces and bleeding fingers are not a good idea
Ground cover very heavy with Matagouri bushes, gave up after using clue and getting lots of splinters.
Really wanted to find this one as our last Polar Bear was getting a bit warm in our swag bag and was looking forward to the prospect of snow.
But, alas, we had no luck, after an extensive search of the area in the cold. Perhaps we were put off delving into just the right location by the amount of toilet paper around ????
Just made it back to the car before the next down pouring of rain.
Perhaps this cache needs moving somewhat as this is definately not a very hygienic area.

On our way home from week-end at Castle Hill and just had to bypass to do this.
Parked too early on the road up the hill and got chastised for having to slug the family thru the swamp. Guess who had to go back and get the car !!
Took a bit of hunting while the car was being fetched and still they hadn't found it !!
JuniorGeovix eventually got it.... again.
- cute little squirrel charm
+ carabiner
thanx
Mike
note: you gotta be a bit cautious with this one, cos it seems to be a bit public - unsavoury/unhygienic bits lying around.

Looked hard for this one with rincewind3, I now have very sore fingers with lots of stab holes in them,we had two GPS,S and still could not locate this cache,Bugger
Poo. After 6 from 6 I was hoping to make it 7. No joy, lots of holes and the sandflies loved me! As Bo&bronnie mentioned below we had 2 GPSrs working on it, too. Tried lots of likely spots.
I was interested to note Bo didn't mention the flat tyre he got parking here, or the fact that he only had half the handle for his jack. We were rescued by some passers-by from West Melton with a working jack and got on our way again...

Checked on the cache - it is still right where I placed it.
I will increase the cache difficulty and elaborate slightly in the clue in the hope of making it slightly easier.

Hmmm, as bitsprayer would say. Spent about 30 minutes finding out how many body parts you can stick a thorn into. Searched extensively in the area and it takes a brave person to ram your hand into every mound of grass around the area. Looking at the previous logs, is this still here? Checked an area of maybe 10 - 15 meters around the location (which was an obvious feature, bur no luck there). Worth someone who knows where it is checking it out? Cheers.
Hmmmm Still now luck with this one, poke and prodded, for
about 30 odd mins.

Well, I have to agree with GSVNoFixedAbode - 40min searching under everything withing 20m of GZ, and nothing found. The only thing obtained was a huge number of prickles, and the obvious toilet stops of other visitors!! Funny thing - that reminds me of the first Girls Trip cache!! The place is beginning to look like a herd of elephants have been scrabbling around. I think I'll wait and watch until there is a little more "definition" before I return.
However, all that said, the area is wonderful - most of you will have driven past - do make the trip right through from Lyndon to Coleridge, as it's a lovely drive in dry mountain country. Thanks for the exercise.

Great drive up via Route 72, then popped in here for a quick grab. 30 minutes and many minor lacerations later I gave up, cursing the Caching Gods, and the [mutter mutter] Matagouri. Another time.
Cheers,
G.

A quickish find on our drive East. The snow had obviously melted by the time we got herel The difference a day makes. There was still plenty of fresh stuff on the mountains not too far above us.

FTF. On way to Arthurs Pass so took a small detour to pick up this cache. What was with the small pile of ice/snow near the cache? This cache will get hard to d=find as the undergrowth grows. TNLN.
